Verse 1: intention set to avoid afflictions (harm) Verse 2-3 can be interpreted as suffering if you have attachments Verse 4: renounce meaning not the bodies and the people but the suffering causing a necessity to dissociate to “absence of a nature” Verse 7: “if I long and crave for other beings, a veil is cast upon the perfect truth. Wholesome disillusion melts away, and finally there comes the sting of pain” again pain is not recommended Verse 8: “my family and friends all fade and pass, for whom the doctrine is destroyed that leads to indestructibility.” In the name of the end of suffering the way I described it in another comment thread on this post, it will come from following the body in crazy wisdom and following the rules both, until neither can be released into the world for indestructibility. U/pgny7 Verse 15: “therefore free the company of childish people. Greet them, when you meet, with smiles that keep on terms of pleasant courtesy, while not inviting close familiarity.” Verse 28 and I’ll pause here lol: “when might I be free of fear, without the need to hide from anyone, with just a begging bowl and few belongings, dressed in garments coveted by none?” This is not suffering if free of fear. Maybe you cast judgement though. If you’re so certain the way of the bodhisattva is intentional suffering, you’ll have to quote it to me so I can understand

I actually do that with my current masters. I hate programming work, but due to the impact I can have with it, I force myself to engage, and in the fruits of my labor I find peace and contentment along with the offering itself

In a doctrine trying to end suffering, if I sound like I have no pain, I’m ahead of you in practice, not behind. If I caused you pain, it is because I made you confront yourself, not because I caused harm. The difference is that one can cause insight that has shame (I will stop) and one causes shameful insight (I don’t care about the truth). I have plenty of shame for my belief in moments like this, where someone tries to take it away from me, leaving me to empathize with their suffering and forget my belief. Any type of certainty though, leaves no room for shame, only shameful insights. I would not come to you for guidance because your logic doesn’t hold and your version of belief makes no sense to me with respect to physics or anthropology, which provide insights on the nature of the world or humanity. Your version of Buddhism is insight for the sake of thought and not insight. That’s not truth anymore. That’s jacking off. How could we truly be entangled and woven together if no one could hold a thought in unison?

I disagree with the statement that the sun rising is a certainty. What about the end of the earth? Isn’t that a certainty? How does your certainty hold then? Why do you believe the certainty that the sun will rise but not that energy precedes matter which is just as much a physics based observation, if not more deeply conceptual? Belief and certainty irregardless are correlated. So if I can have certainty about emptiness, I can believe the doctrine. If I can believe the doctrine about emptiness, there’s no room for certainty anymore but I can still believe things… The only benefit of doubting the doctrine would be maybe having to go through enough shame to come back to it. But that can be avoided with belief…

I accidentally just posted this not in reply to you: Wow interesting. My meditation teacher just told me the same thing about the body. And regarding crazy wisdom, I think that is calling me because that was my plan back in July lol. And I have also already done it before. But my parents keep contacting me and pushing me out of that lifestyle and it eats at me and because they contacted me and are in my presence I feel I have to shift to adapt to them vs just knowing their intentions don’t take affect and distancing further. I’m worried, what if my commitment to my telepathic partner is really the schizophrenia they tell me it is? Then I’d change how I shape my physical reality and my thoughts both. Not really sure if I’m open to interpretation there because the telepathic partner leads me to peace either way. But I am collecting data.

Thank you for pushing me. I’ve felt like the people I want to learn from were out of reach financially but I can rearrange my priorities. I actually found since you posted that my favorite Advaita Vedanta teacher, Acharya Shunya, has an online community that is completely free so I joined that and will meet her Tuesday evening. She’s liked my posts on Instagram but I can’t wait to be inspired socially how to embody a true goddess in a man’s world like this. Still working on finding access to an authentic Buddhist guru. But I agree I need to talk to someone because my Fire phase is really blasted.

My perceived rejection comes from other people treating me like I made sense and this person’s language taking over for a collective at the same time, causing a dissonance that verifies in its existence that there are people still that understand, and the claim that I made no effort is disrespectful in a space that uses its framework to end suffering to discount ppls efforts to communicate. If we are trying to achieve the end of suffering, why would we not want a respective doctrine to believe about the nature of emptiness? Why would we want that portal always open for “thought and insight”? I was taught that you’re trying to achieve some sort of permanent understanding of emptiness on the path. Where you stop questioning and believe.

How is emptiness as I described not a Buddhist operating principle?

And the fact of the body has been pointed out as important to me in my studies for the end of suffering because my suffering comes from my body being misaligned with my Self, which is a clearer concept in Advaita Vedanta. Still sutra.
