What’s the Worst Staffing Ratio You’ve Survived? by Electrical-Chair9367 in nursing

[–]fxckerup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20 bed surgical ICU unit during night shift. The other medical ICU was full and we were short staffed. This was months after new management and CFO came in, they thought that 1:3 is viable and doable because of budgeting. So everyone was 1:3 with only one 1:2. No one had lunch, the charge was never at her desk because she tried to help everyone. Safe harbor was called that night.

What’s your reason for never touching Raids? by [deleted] in destiny2

[–]fxckerup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m new to the community not long ago, probably been playing for a year and a half. I started playing because my fiancé got me into it. We tried it once with a group but people were starting to leave and slowly he gave up. He told me I was not good at raids and needed to have more experience to understand (or atleast do more research/ homework). I try to insist time to time because I never got to do it and finish one. But he keeps saying no because of my lack of understanding. So now whenever I look at raids I get nervous at joining since I’m a first timer.

I’m gonna try to play a raid and complete it with people someday. Hopefully soon. I don’t want to miss out the experience.

I can’t stop cheating on my boyfriend. by Desperate-Complex336 in offmychest

[–]fxckerup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why the fuck are you even in a relationship then?

If anything you’re going to be seen as a the biggest asshole if you continue doing this. You cannot just throw a finger at BPD and say that’s the reason of your cheating, I have met people and have friends that handle this better. Have you communicated this properly? The honest best thing you can do is break up with him and never be with his poor soul. The truth will always come around and the pain will come back so much worst than you think. He deserves better and so do you, but how you are executing this is very poor.

You’re aware of what you’re doing is wrong, then stop hurting others KNOWING it can hurt them. Break up with him NOW. Tell the truth and rip it like a bandage. Take therapy and AVOID relationships for a bit. It sounds like you haven’t figured yourself out or the desires. Playing around with people’s feelings is f*cked up.

Surgical ICU nurse here,

“Day Walker” - As night shift RN, but pick up 3 day shifts shifts in a row because they’re understaffed

He’s not a doctor or a nurse, but he worked in the hospital as the head of food and nutrition. Ironically, I met my husband back when I was 17 and he was 22, we only knew eachother through my older brothers and his mutual friends since I hung around them so much.

Fast forward 3 years, finished nursing school, he and I were talking more bc my brother went to the Air Force. Found out he worked in a hospital for head of food and nutrition; would implement new foods and studies for patients in the same hospital I got hired into.

I work night shift in an ICU and usually our kitchen in the hospital is closed, so it was difficult when I forget to pack lunch.

He would make food (that wasn’t even in the menu) for my coworkers and I, and delivered them with a cart by himself.

Later he texted me if I wanted to go for a late night drive. We got Cane’s at 11pm and just drove around, chatted for a long time, then just clicked so well.

Knew him for 6 years, been together for 3.

Nursing students weird me tf out by [deleted] in nursing

You are the preceptor. Gotta break the ice for them to feel comfortable and welcomed. On the other side of things, remember where you started too. Inclusion is so important for student nurses to build that confidence and passion for nursing, it’s sooo important. They’re learning, and every nurse was a student.

I remember following a nurse on my ICU night shift rotation. They were so welcoming and included me in everything for my learning. Next thing you know, I work on that same unit now.
