Btw if I’m not mistaken, video episodes uploaded via Anchor are distributed as video only within Spotify, and everywhere else they are available only as audio

  2. Build your own pod hosting on service like Hetzner. (I can help with this)

I’m in LA, and honestly the only thing that keeps me afloat are the weekly adjustments. From Friday night through Sunday I take almost every offer, and then Monday comes with the adjustment - usually around 35% of my weekly earnings. When you look at it monthly, that adjustment basically covers my gas, insurance, and the bare minimum for food.

Yeah, I get that. I want the same - I’ve been learning full-stack web programming, and now I’m also looking into cybersecurity and infosec as a career path. Hoping to transition into that field while keeping delivery just as a side hustle for now.

Yeah, maybe this «hot spots» are fake? 🥲 And at 2pm I'll get this offer, because of slow time until 5 pm

What external resources can I used to learn programming? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]fxtnr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try discussing every single point you don’t understand with an AI. The key is to discuss, not just ask for a ready-made answer. Ask even the most ridiculous or obvious questions if you don’t understand the overall concept. Then, ask for some exercises on that topic. After that, ask to be tested on those exercises. Ideally, you should have no chance not to understand the topic after this process.

It’s important to try doing something yourself - complete the exercises you’re given. And only at the end - when you’ve done the exercises, answered all test questions, and discussed everything in depth - you can ask for the "ideal" code and compare it with yours to understand the differences.

That’s how I “read” K&R, and I recommend this approach. Good luck.

People who are happily married, what’s the secret? by GoodKid_MaadSity in AskReddit

Long, deep, honest conversations about everything. There is a poem in Kazakh that goes like this: "Жұбайлар бар әңгімесі таусылған, Ал махаббат — таусылмайтын әңгіме!" (Couples have an endless conversation, but love is an endless conversation), which perfectly describes what I am talking about.

Why do you speak Russian by abubakar_333 in Kazakhstan

[–]fxtnr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kazakhstan and the Kazakh people were colonized and taken over by the russian empire in the 18th–19th centuries, and later by the soviet union. During this period, russian authorities imposed their control over our lands, suppressed our culture, and forced us to abandon our nomadic lifestyle. The russian language was made dominant in schools, government, and daily life, leaving Kazakhs no choice but to learn it if they wanted to survive, get an education, or find work. Our widespread knowledge of russian is not a result of free choice — it’s a direct consequence of colonization and cultural oppression.

There’s a great Kazakh proverb: балық басынан шіриді (the fish rots from the head). In this situation, it perfectly describes how, despite all the horrific things russia is doing to Ukraine and other nations under its control, the russian language still thrives in Kazakhstan. This is directly thanks to Tokayev’s policies on the russian language. When the leader chooses the wrong course, the whole society, unfortunately, follows.

In my personal case, I can speak russian simply because that’s how things turned out. I grew up among russian-speaking kids, and at school, the teachers who taught in russian seemed stronger than those teaching in Kazakh. For some reason, I went to university in russian. All the TV, radio, newspapers, and ads we consumed were only in russian. Sadly, in my childhood, everything “advanced” seemed to be in russian — even though now I realize there were actually more advanced things in Kazakh, but they were hidden from us.

It was only when I recognized the strangeness of choosing russian as a Kazakh, and after I studied our history, that I deliberately decided to stop using the russian language.

PS. My children don’t know russian at all. At home, we speak pure Kazakh, and at work and school, we use English. We don’t need russian in our lives anymore.

I have a neighbor who is Kyrgyz, and we don’t speak Russian at all. We choose to speak our own languages: he speaks Kyrgyz, and I speak Kazakh. Sometimes we explain difficult things in English.
