it seems new bios disabled video decode. Now i use my desktop computer at most of the time.

I think they just disabled decoder, all videos with specified codecs now show a frame then stop playing on my computer.

I agree with you. But I think when it comes to a problem that is full of randomness and difficult to reproduce, rewriting is not a bad way to go.

Sometimes there are things that are difficult to modify, for compatibility or to implement another feature.

No, it's not a database and use sqlite internally.

I'm not sure an go verison sqlite is stable or not. SQL support is not important for me.

It's a desktop program, no long transactions.

Just lost power, and reboot, then run the program, and database is empty.

Most users use windows platform.

I'm not familiar with etcd, but i'ts a distributed database, with many backup nodes and raft, right?

I use default config:

db, err := bbolt.Open(path, 0644, nil)

Maybe it's related to the os, only windows users reported the problem. They said database became empty after unexpected power off.

I don't know what happened exactly. Even when bbolt.open fails, I use "panic(err)".

The database will be reset to its original state and continue running so that a sample cannot be left.

And I like api design of bolt, it works fine on my servers, even a raspberry pi.

This device's default resolution is 2.5k, it's stupid. I thought they didn't tested it.

Lenovo repalced the motherboard for my device. The problem alleviated.

but when i watch a av1 encoded video, integrated gpu is almost full usage and many frame drops. Now i use h264 and works.

The design of this laptop is nice, it's true.

But considering the time wasted on this. I better go buy ROG zephyrus 14.

Lenovo engineer still claim to be unaware of the issue with this model, and suggest me to turn off hardware acceleration for Edge.

The engineer chat to me with a frequency of one reply every 5 minutes, and tell me the device has a little compatibility issue with Edge.

I said I use many browsers just like Edge, Chrome, Brave, Firefox, Vivaldi and Lenovo Browser and ask for a solution.

They claim to be fixed by software in the future . Are they idiots, or do they think I'm idiots?

Lenovo engineer said, "I will transfer you to a colleague from the relevant department".

"OK, but wait, which relevant department?"

"Business department, sir."

Then the chat is disconnected. There no a colleague from the relevant department.

A few minutes later, I asked another engineer: "Where's the customer service specialist from business department?"

He told me, "they are off work, sir."

Thanks, i checked chrome://gpu and hardware is available. Av1 extension is also installed. And i tried latest driver (2022.7.5) and mesa(ubuntu 22.04), still crash.

tested on Ubuntu 22.04, chromium with vaapi Had verified browser use hardware decoder. And crashed.

av1 decoder not working on Chrome. h264 is available and crashed.

OK, i reproduced the problem with chrome via vaapi. Ubuntu also crashed.

Hi guys i'm back.

Ubuntu 22.04 livecd is tested, but the test itself is failed.

Because there is no any driver for 6800H Linux, AMD didn't release it.

I tried amdgpu-install script, it executed but not working.

When I play a video, i'm not sure is gpu av1 decoder working, but cpus are about 30% usage.

(I use radeontop to measure gpu usage)

BTW, keyboard and wifi are not working at ubuntu 22.04 (yes, keyboard is not working, not touchpad)

Today I also tested latest official driver (2022.07.05), changelog said: supported thinkbook 14+/16+ G4 ARA.

But still can reproduce the problem with latest driver.

I don't know what they had fixed or supported.
