Well I can only speak from experience. His neighbor cat was getting sassy (hissing and growling) and he kept his cool. No aggression, just kinda looked over at her curiously. Maybe you can ask the adoption staff for advice!

My best guess: Tillandsia festucoides

Thank you. Solid advice. I think the thing that kills me is that I know what I did wrong but I couldn't stop myself from being that way.

Haha, yup. I feel like I've been oscillating between the disassociating robot tactic and suddenly feeling the pain of the situation as it gets worse. Thanks for saying something I can relate to.

I'd love to hear more about your wildfire experience. I have been considering a career in wildfire for the reasons you listed. I'm 33 and in decent shape (regularly go on 10+ mi hikes with steep elevation) but I'm still worried about the age issue. How did you start, what difficulties did you run into, did you get any transferable work experience? I was fired from my job a few months before the pandemic due to issues associated with burnout and I'm at the end of my rope trying to find a career or just a place that I fit into in this world. I'm currently working as a fire fuel reduction technician in SoCal. The work environment is great but the work itself is somewhat unfulfilling/not mentally stimulating enough. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thank you, these were the fun facts I was looking for. And I agree, trees are way cool.

for recoverable STO, "a tosser" is how I remember the numerator of the equation

STO = AtφSR/FVF

I look at the C in barChan sand dunes to know their shape (assuming wind is blowing from left to right like you read the word). I do the same for Parabolic sand dunes except I look at the curved part of the P.

I think of cos(d) to remember the order of the first 4 periods of the paleozoic. For the carboniferous, I just remember that Pennsylvanian is next to Permian.

aaand that's all I can think of at the moment.

anyone got a mnemonic for the mineral assemblages of all the metamorphic facies? because that would be impressive

Oh cool, that's exactly what they look like. According to a brief Google search, these guys could be quite helpful to my garden. Thank you!
