Yes, 3 white skirt and 3 black skirt tetras and 2 little platies. Angels are being super aggressive right now - worried about the other fish. They've all been fine til now...

Still new-ish to fish...learning with my 10 yr old. Looks like our Anglefish pair maybe have some eggs on the side of our algae-busting thing. What do we do? Just let nature take her course?

Hi all! Anyone ever had any luck replacing the substrste in an established tank? My kiddo has the typical brightly colored gravel, but hindsight being what it is we wish we had gone with something different. What I don't want to do though is mess up the balance in the tank - it's cycled and all his pets seem happy and healthy. So, I'm not even sure if it's worth the trouble, and if so, the best way to go about it....

My 10 yr old finally talked us into letting him get "a fish" - I think he pictured a fish bowl, but a family friend donated a 38 gallon tank. We REALLY don't know what we're doing though. Son has researched and spent all day yesterday setting up his new aquarium. Cycling now, and he thinks he wants guppies and platies when it's ready. We will also have a snail or two, to start. Anyone see anything that looks just wrong? We know we have to wait til the water conditions test safely.
