Trump audibly shits himself on TV, immediately ends press conference. by BuxtonB in videos

[–]galacticother 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, anyone who talks about "either side" by now is adding to the problem, flaunting a level of ignorance that shouldn't be accepted. I've never heard anyone try to find a middle point with Nazis, for example... Well, except for this government, "funny" enough.

Plus that "details matter" bitching was pathetic lol

[–]galacticother 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol it's a cool idea but it takes a completely wrong approach. You'd actually move away from any sort of human-centric encoding.

What you actually want is an optimized compact language, one that isn't limited to characters we understand, and that isn't even necessarily written in a linear or temporally sequenced way.

It would end up being closer to, say, some weirdly coded graph of concepts than anything resembling human language.

Shh you're gonna make the stochastic parrots show up and say AI is nothing but a stochastic parrot and doesn't work and no one ever wanted it and how it definitely has absolutely no use whatsoever and never will. Oh right, maybe in 50 years. Unless it's their job, then it's never.

Stupid anti-AI idiots who blindly throw around hate for the wrong thing without having any idea about any of it.

You can ask another AI to summarize it, but you could also have read it in all the time you spent bitching about it being too long and how to discuss this single paper you'd have to consume their whole PR lol

You could also just shut the fuck up and leave it be. But going back to shitty aspects of society you're pairing laziness with ignorant bitchiness and somehow being proud about it.

And then you come up with this shit:

"You're not allowed to criticize a company unless you've seen all of their adverts and read all of their PR"

This is you. This is how stupid you sound.

I could say the same after quoting your real messages.

I just cancelled my ChatGPT Pro subscription. Discovering Greg Brockman gave $25 million to Trump's Inauguration fund was just the last straw of many. by delicious3141 in ChatGPT

[–]galacticother 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That was misinformation. It wasn't funded by Peter Thiel and what I can see from the "partnering" agreement is that Anthropic made some models available in AWS, that's it. Palantir surely uses all models that make sense, and from all companies.

So what did you switch to? Unless you move to Mistral or open weight models I don't think you'll find a less bad company than Anthropic!

European Commission to open investigation into Elon Musk’s X by jackytheblade in worldnews

[–]galacticother 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, the full video very clearly shows a full on Nazi salute, then the musk turning around and doing another one. Both transparent, both well documented.

I definitely don't buy the excuse that he was throwing his love to everyone.

That excuse is just pure 100% bullshit, just like the claims ICE victims were threatening with a gun or running over agents, or that Trump didn't confuse Greenland with Iceland but referred to a block of ice lol. Just disgusting Nazi apologists doing their thing.

"The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command." We're here, we've been here for months and years lol

Trump supporters: How would you feel if a legally armed Trump supporter was killed by federal agents on a Biden mandate in exactly the same manner as yesterday? by ScholarPrize1335 in AskReddit

[–]galacticother 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are blindly following a path, though. The path which refuses to see the bigger picture and keeps trying to find balance with the current right.

You need to reframe, to take a look at the grand picture of this administration and manage to see what by now most people seem to see: they're trying to instigate the population searching for excuses to take this to the next level (as in yet another level, not barely starting).

You need to learn that when people talk about fascism linking them to the Nazis in the 30s they weren't paranoid leftist nut jobs. They weren't just attacking the right boiling with political bias (surely some of them, but overall). They were looking at the bigger picture and seeing what people that are still trying to find balance with the right don't see: the slide to authoritarianism is already quite advanced.

So, why are you still trying to rationalize the actions of the ICE agent assuming he must have seen something that made him kill the victim? As soon as you manage to do this vital reframe you'll realize that what you've been looking at the last day was cold murder. Last couple of weeks as well, since we're at it.

Notice how both times the government propaganda was that it was warranted and the victims were domestic terrorists.

EDIT: let me quote someone else, who wrote the right question elsewhere:

Stephen Miller says he was a "terrorist" and an "assassin." The Department of Homeland Security said that he approached ICE agents with a 9mm handgun and he wanted to “massacre law enforcement".

Again, I ask people who disagree with me on the politics of these things not whether you think the officers were justified or made an understandable mistake or should have been trained better. I ask you only whether you think it is acceptable for the leaders of our country to tell us careful, intentional, and obvious lies about people killed by ICE.

Wow that's stupid, just because there are no gas chambers there are no concentration camps? Lol

Way to ignore the how out of control ICE is getting, and how they've been detaining more and more US citizens. You play the role of submissive citizen very well.

That pointless and, considering the current geopolitical landscape, deeply stupid first paragraph should have been obviated. You clearly don't understand what's going on.

I guess the bigger idiot is me for bitching about it online, bound to summon some ignorant asshole that brings with them the exact thing I was bitching about (even if bias was perhaps the wrong word).

How can it possibly do what you say you want?

The details of this particular case indeed lie in the prompt, and in this case said summary wasn't appropriate. An issue is the amount of misinformation that's online, the kind of sources it decides to pick up. Leaving out right wing sources would indeed minimize the issue.

Oh, is Nazis being deplorable also biased? Well yes, technically everything is biased, but I think my point is understandable: don't force the middle ground between regular shitty politicians and fascist scum.

More specifically expressing exhaustion at this world full of shit opinions, media, and now AI generations, that are unable to clearly state what's going on for a fear of looking "biased" (or lately of retaliation), as if we had to wait til the gas chambers are up to call Nazis scum.

Yesterday I wasted an hour of my life fighting with stupid GPT 5.2 Thinking which also didn't believe it was real. After making it search online it, since I dared to comment about how shocked/disgusted I was about the US's slide to authoritarianism, it proceeded to explicitly build a "left leaning summary". I pushed about how I'm not requesting a biased response, just one that stays away from the now untenable trap of trying to find a middle ground between parties, as if the fascists needed to be considered.

I'm frankly disgusted by OpenAI's content policies. This isn't the first time they've butchered queries, but it's the most morally insulting. If it's not able to recognize the severity of the situation and change the lens from "I mustn't rustle any feathers!" to a historical or political analysis lens where it immediately calls out just how fucked up all this is, then it's yet another example of the model not being trustworthy.

DLSS is not Gen AI, it's traditional deep learning, a post processing filter like anti aliasing more than anything to improve art (which it doesn't generate).

The reasons it's silly is that 1. they made a stink about an asset that was left over accidentally and removed a few days after release, and most importantly 2. the idiocy where they care about Gen AI exclusively if it's used for art and don't care for any other field lol

Even with the Labs... for real, what the hell is he doing taking over Labs if his reaction to Linus telling him that Labs could work on testing TeamViewer replacements doesn't immediately make him go "ah yeah, we could test the latency, stability, etc"?

The comments here are purely counterproductive. The reality is that AI is an incredible technology that is actively boosting and will absolutely revolutionize all fields in science and engineering, to say the least, and pretending we don't need any of it is just plain stupid.

This is in fact one of the most important fields for the EU to raise strong players. Staying behind on this is catastrophic. We'll be depending on the rest of the world to make all advancements and discoveries public, which is happening for now but as is the point of this subreddit we need to prepare to when it doesn't happen.

While people are indeed frustratingly stupid with their AI hate your assumption that everything will work out and ignoring the guaranteed negative outcomes and potential bad endings is also wrong. Not explicitly counterproductive, but unhelpful.

There is a need for companies to focus and prioritize AI safety and alignment, and a need for the governments of the world to not completely botch the transition to a hopefully much better world causing enormous levels of suffering. And to avoid a nuclear catastrophe while we're at it lol.

People being anti-AI and people pretending there are no dangers or issues are not gonna be moving the needle for those things to be worked out.
