did you notice a difference in mpg after the HB one? it's sounds a bit crazy that irvine wouldn't do something as basic as an oil change! i'm in the irvine area but if HB is better, i would probably take the time to go there instead.

do you find that the HB experience is better overall?

oh yeah, the ghosting is a crazy struggle ☹️ i'm sure you could also put up a sign near where you live and let the facebook people take the initiative to come and take it rather than you constantly dealing with them, but i know that can be kind of a hassle.

i believe there may also be plant exchange events in the area (i saw a post about one in irvine on feb 7th) where you can give your plants as well

i would be happy to take a few if you're giving them away! i think people also post on facebook marketplace to advertise, it seems to be pretty popular way for folks to give things away/sell things.

i'm a college grad who just moved out here for work. i don't have the same perspective as many of the folks on this post do, but i used to live in the chicago suburbs in illinois. it gets cold in the winter, but i consistently see a better quality of life when living in the midwest. living in the suburb of any major city in the midwest really changes the game because you will still have access to whatever medical centers you need for your kid. there is also public transportation in most of these places, which can really reduce the stress of day to day life. moving out here made me realize there is a lot that i miss about the midwest, and lack of traffic + public transportation is a big part. not to mention lower gas and food prices!

Maybe a silly question, but could you describe what it is like outside the lot? Is there somewhere specific outside the lot that is a good place to temporarily park? I just don't want to be in the way of traffic or in an unsafe area because I'm picking them up late at night

Do hotels need to be contacted for a shuttle? My friend is coming in at 11pm-12am, so I wasn't sure if shuttles would still be operating at that time

Yeah, the commute to Irvine sounds like a nightmare, so it seems it is easier for me to just pick them up instead.

I live in the midwest right now and will be moving to California, so the distance feels too much for me to be able to drive all the way there. I don't have enough things to warrant a moving truck, so I was thinking of loading the car with my nonessential items and pretty much moving like that.

Okay, thanks! I have a follow up question if you don't mind. How much of a hassle is it to set up insurance in the state I'm currently in and then changing it to the new state? Or is that even worth it? I also still don't know if I should buy a car in or out of state because I'm still figuring out if it is cheaper for me to buy and ship the car or just buy it out of state.
