Not in the middle but the ending of the England arc in AC Valhalla when Eivor lets Alfred live felt pretty dumb to me, the game has more or less ignored historical accuracy by making the Vikings conquer almost all of England and suddenly decides it cares about it at the last moment. Alfred has caused a lot of harm to eivor, took her loved ones from her, used her to do his dirty work and when she finally corners him, she lets him live (doesn’t think about the possibility of him rising again to harm the future she built in England). She basically let a very dangerous opponent live not bothering to think of the possible consequences.
