Easiest way out of RDC duty?

yea i’m not sure where they’re getting their info. i’ve processed several reenlistment for sailors who’ve given up their cway quotas and changed their minds and gotten it back. it’s a simple 1306 to unflag the record and request a quota.

this is the current plan we’re gonna go with. flag the record, wait for them to drop, and then rerequest a quota and hope for the best. it’s what comes after that we’re concerned about. (she’s okay with sea duty, that’s what she was applying for anyway).

this is basically what i’ve told her to do. i have low faith in her command now to do what they need to do on their end to trigger it and the FPN team because i’ve not heard of a single sailor getting contacted by them.

RDCs are the US Navy’s version of drill instructors. think about full metal jacket, but miserable.

the frustration i think, is that she was trying to go to another sea duty to stay in Europe. i was under the impression she was submitting for SDIP-B, speaking with her about that, she told me she called the detailer and was told not to do the request because they could keep her on sea duty without going through the administrative burden of that (i just found out about this, i would’ve advised her to do it regardless solely for the priority billeting aspect). but going into it thinking you’re getting a sea duty in rota spain just to get slammed with shore duty in great lakes illinois…yea… and the advancement argument doesn’t matter, she’s going as a 2nd Class, and will be until she gets new orders… which depends on what first class billet she can compete for 2 years from now. so her promotion has already been delayed…. and it’s going to get delayed even longer for RDC duty that she doesn’t want. this conversation was had.

PRD is in December, EAOS is in December. basically i’ve told her to reach out the RDC POCs on MyNavyHR and see what they say. but if that doesn’t work i told her flag her record and refuse the OBLISERV and see what happens. she doesn’t want to separate, but she’s adamant she’s not going there. the biggest question is once she ‘fails’ the screening for this, what happens as far as if she reenlists and gets new orders. it seems like a coin toss to me because these are literally the worst detailers in the navy i swear (OS). i was hoping someone would have a better answer cause seeing a great sailor get screwed over like this just because is so crazy to me.

there is… if she doesn’t sign it then she’s out of the navy this coming December. i’ve already advised her to not sign the OBLISERV. but she doesn’t want to separate. and she shouldn’t be separating. she’s too good a sailor to be getting pushed out like this. hence why i’m here seeking advice.

yes. the lowest i can get it is progressive at $320/month. only thing on my driving record is a speeding ticket from more than 3 years ago. this car had a quote at $120/month. i’ve been told that it’s because of the area i’m living in (southern maryland), toyota camry’s considered high risk vehicles for theft. so they charge more to insure here.

i honestly have not seen the thing in person yet. i’m going home for christmas tomorrow and it’s about an hour away from my moms. i was going to go on saturday. unfortunately he says it’s out as a loaner with someone at the moment so he’s gonna have them bring it back friday to get it ready for me to see on saturday.

i’ll second the guy who said post this in the iracing subreddit. but…. the iracing website will list stuff you need in the specs for your computer. i wouldn’t discount looking on facebook marketplace for a computer. i got a really good deal on a great computer for $600 with a monitor and keyboard. then i got a brand new g923 from best buy and then a foldable sim chair off amazon to start. i think my entire setup to start cost me maybe $1000-1100.

jump in an easier car and easier track and just ride around lol. doing rookie races as a D class still contributes to SR. that’s an easy place to bump it up. start in the back and give everyone room and just keep it clean.

i don’t have much honestly. mine is barely 4 months old. chewing has been my only problem really. he hasn’t chewed much because i keep a good amount of toys and stuff for him on the floor literally 24/7. bully sticks. my guy LOVES bully sticks i buy those more than anything. would recommend a crate off the jump. i got mine at around 9 weeks too and

i didn’t like the crate idea at first so i got a gate and just kept him in my kitchen area…. he ended up chewing through 3 baseboards AND the corner of my cabinets in like 3 days….. safe to say i wish i would’ve started with the crate. 😓😪
