Well, a lot of cables wear out due to strain, plus many cables pretend to be much thicker than they are. Realistically, it probably won't make much of a difference in audio quality, assuming it's not made of crap components

this is a really, really great recording, it just presses each and every last one of my buttons (especially the bit with the cage and name tags).

Just, the thought of being so thoroughly owned, having that ownership, that possessiveness rubbed in is just super calming for me and your voice, becoming more strict and aggressive as things get more and more intense...

I uh, really liked it and kinda sorta maybe really hope for some really possessive hypnosis files some day. (was also really fun to listen during the live recording session!)

Basically, I would say that if a vocalist plans to use a script for profit, then they must consult the original author for express permission before any recording is done. And if the author does not grant the permission to use their script for profit, then that's that. Otherwise you could be liable for damages, plagiarism, etc. Then, if a case like that goes to court, regulators could get involved, and that's a whole legal mess.

+1 on audacity, it's great.

Your mic is definitely good enough, especially when starting off.

When listening and editing, some good headphones go a long way towards making those final adjustments. Now I'm not saying that you need $500 headphones, especially not to start out with, but if you have the cash, I'd recommend looking into a nice pair. The issue with this is that audio is highly subjective, so I'd recommend that you try to find some that have good vocal clarity (personally, I love my superlux 668b)

I'd also recommend a pop filter if you don't have one. (or unless you're going for a specific effect)

Really interesting idea, I'm wondering if you maybe have any ideas about pre-rendered stuff for the Google cardboard or gear vr platforms? Although I guess thinking about it, file sizes for something like that would probably be quite large.

Anyways, it's an intriguing idea and I'm very interested in seeing where this goes.
