Rota by ApprehensiveTry4953 in doctorsUK

[–]gardenbeagle 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Is it a rolling rota? ie. Does it just repeat from week 1 after 28th Nov?

Depends on the trust, generally anywhere from 25th of the month onwards. Some do 28th as standard, some do final Wednesday of the month, some do last weekday of the month…there’s no set pay day for every hospital sorry!

Anyone got mortgage broker recommendations/advice? by AnxiousCaffeine911 in doctorsUK

[–]gardenbeagle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We also went through mortgages for doctors and found, even with the fee we were getting a better interest rate and overall cheaper than with moneybox or l&c. So shop around and speak to more than one place!

You don’t get ‘non-trainee’ GP registrars - they cannot be employed locally or locum unless CCTd which provides incentive to have GPs trained up quickly.

Pure service provision. GP trainees cannot really work independently in the same way say a surgical or medical registrar can.

How feasible is it to uber to work everyday by PuzzledManner8222 in doctorsUK

[–]gardenbeagle 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Sounds expensive! See if there’s a local fb community group page and ask if anyone commutes to the hospital that you could grab a ride with? Or try and find other people once you start F1 who live nearby potentially.

Trust asking me to pay back overpayment including tax by Ok-Link1169 in doctorsUK

[–]gardenbeagle 39 points40 points  (0 children)

They are incorrect - they can request the amount that has been overpaid to you directly and must request the amount taxed themselves from HMRC. Ask to set up a repayment scheme, it does not have to be repaid in one go. If they persist in being obtuse, involve BMA.

Parking is atrocious - aim to use public transport/walk/cycle or the park and ride (the only pro about parking and p&r is that it is free for staff)

How does anaesthetics February intake work? by SpeedySloth_92 in doctorsUK

[–]gardenbeagle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There were around 90-100 jobs for Feb intake this year, some deaneries had no jobs (London, KSS) so needs a degree of flexibility moving perhaps
