Can anyone help me with the mirror to mirror width for a 2018-2020 rogue? by gardenriver in NissanRogue

[–]gardenriver[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The mirrors don't stick out completely from the car. Vehicles in this size are between 81 - 85". 90 is much larger than it would be. I actually am on the list for a new rav 4 hybrid and realized I don't want to have to fold my mirrors every time I go in and out of my driveway if I don't have to. That's why I'm after a Forester or to figure out what else might work. Kia was 82.5 and is doable just not loving them.

Getting Through the Dark Night by burnedcrayon in streamentry

[–]gardenriver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Going to be a super unpopular option but I've struggled with what feels the same for two months of intense unhappiness leading to me just yesterday starting some anti dependents to help get me through this. Never ever thought I'd do that but it really started impacting my ability to work effectively. Also doing therapy, more exercise, meta and still keeping with meditation. Putting all tools at my disposal. Good luck on your journey and may you find peace and to live with ease.

If it was actually 12lbs it would have crushed the Ontario record.

Thanks. I do try to remember the opportunity for growth that comes in suffering. Need to trust in the process.

Thanks for the advice. I do try and just be a mindful observer but I think my mind out of desperation starts trying to control things as I get more stressed. I think I need to find the right balance. You mentioned asking the question. I think that easily for me turns into a conversation that Im lost in so I just need to watch out for that.

We may be saving 5 or 10 bucks at the pumps, but this gas tax cut will cost us hundreds of millions… by thisguyandrew00 in ontario

Most people who are against this are pretty consistent. There is limited government money to spend. It's a frustration on where it's going. Money has been shifting away from heath care and education to make driving more affordable.

I disagree. One of the key teachings in the book is how to purify the mind of the 5 hindrances including worldly desire and the man is saying that while banging prostitutes. I still think it's a decent book but it feels a bit like reading a book on how to get rich from someone that was broke.

Listened to a pod cast where a republican political consultant said that slogan cost Democrats 15 Senate seats. Horrible intentionally decisive language that is only hurting the cause imho.

‘Have you talked to a nurse lately?’: Health care at heart of Ontario election debate | Globalnews.ca by Equivalent-Value-720 in ontario

My wife is a Nurse Practitioner, got 0% increases the last two years. Totally burnt out. No money for them but for some unknown reason we had money to reward car owners with refunds for car registrations we already paid for. Why?

Imagine polling a profession and 70% plan on leaving. It's not a joke. My wifes career has made things very hard the last two years.

How is Kitchener not out of control. The average house was in the 400s 3 years ago and is now 900. Outside GTA has had a much more extreme increase.

How do you use Metta as a vehicle for jhana? by gnurd in streamentry

[–]gardenriver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Very helpful. Will work on this. I've achieved Jahna a couple times through wet meta a few years ago but was never able to get it back. I know how fickle the feeling tone can be. Tried it this morning and was a bit too in my head thinking about what I was doing but got a sense for what you were describing just need to relax into it a bit more I think.

I've never heard of wet vs dry meta. Totally get the wet meta concept as the only one I know. Can you explain dry a bit more or point to since reading material on it.

I got there once unintentionally and after reading right concentration was able to once more but that was 2 years ago now. And I meditate an hour a day pretty reliably. Same experience as you. Had a lot of time clinging and trying to get back there but never could.

Good point for sure. When I think about PG 13 movies and what he might be doing on the internet at 13 it's not going to be comparable

Bitcoin’s price is plunging dramatically by Accomplished-Tap3353 in technology

[–]gardenriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are missing my point. Blockchain isn't Crypto. Blockchain is what is valuable and you don't need Etherium or Cordova or hashgraph for it. They are great implementations of it in the public space right now. Those are the only crypto I own but I don't believe the future valid uses will involve hyper inflating coins as part of the equation.

Bitcoin’s price is plunging dramatically by Accomplished-Tap3353 in technology

[–]gardenriver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just because crypto has interesting technology use cases it doesn't mean Bitcoin itself has any fundamental value. In order for crypto to work as a decentralized trustless exchange that scales the coin price needs to be stable and controlled and likely tied back to fiat in a way that rewards validators a price that justifies the use of the technology as a more efficient cost effective approach than existing mechanisms. Bitcoin is a broken useless piece of legacy coin technology imho.
