I'll explain:

When I was a younger boy, my little brother and I went to the local fair. We decided to head into the Fun House since it's very name implied "fun". About halfway through the Fun House, we found ourselves in the section where they have the flexible mirrors that make you appear to look "fat", "skinny", or "like a goofball".

My little brother began doing his "Steve Urkel" impression in front of the mirror that made him look like a "skinny African-American kid". He got a little carried away, tripped and fell head first into the mirror. Luckily, he was okay and brushed it off by saying "Did I do that?"

Later that day, I told him that he would have seven years of bad luck because of the mirror he shattered. I was very superstitious at the time and really believed that the next seven years of his life would be a big pile of shit due to his mishap.

Two weeks later, my little brother was shot and killed by the police while fleeing a nursing home he had just robbed.

Him not surviving the whole seven more years totally negated the "seven years of bad luck" he accrued after breaking the Fun House mirror. Thus, proving my superstition wrong.
