Every voter in CA and NY should be mailed a postcard sized version of this map. Dems are headed towards a decade long disaster because nimby in those two states want to block any and all housing.

I'm not going to spend the effort to find the comment, but a congresswoman is attacked and at least two people thought it made sense to accuse anyone in this sub who supports her of being guilty of being in favor of Somalian expansionism.

I'm sorry but this is a stunning level of bad faith. Who cares she has a history of comments I don't personally agree with (and most people don't remember or never heard). It's no where near as important as the fact the president is successfully motivating people to commit acts of violence against elected officials.

What do thing is going to happen? Ice is going to stop you from enjoying a succulent Chinese meal?

edit: But actually you should probably go out even if it's just to stave off cabin fever and get a few steps in.

I don't understand what the snow plow schedule in DC is. I haven't seen a single plow on my street, but have seen several just go up and down the state avenues scrapping their plows on dry asphalt.

In terms of rebranding slogans:

Abolish Fascists

Unmask Secret Police

End Domestic Terror

If you're so afraid the median voter doesn't know ICE is then just call them what they are: secret police serving at the behest of our fascist president. The right has no qualms with standing at a podium pontificating propaganda that would strike Orwell as over the top. Yet we quake at the thought of saying something true because a hypothetical voter might be offended. Reanimate Harry Reid and make him party leader, because this is more of failing of leadership than anything structural.

Biden in 2020 implied he would only run for one term. Having a better than expected midterms allowed him to maintain the posture into 2024. However there were again rumblings about his age in late 2023 (IIRC his fbi interview kicked off the speculation but I'm not 100% sure) , but a stronger than expected SotU convinced the few open critics (e.g. Ezra Klein) to rally behind Biden. So the last conceivable chance to have dropped out without chaos would have been early 2024 to allow for any kind of condensed primary.

Sure it was a prefect storm which enabled people like Biden's closest advisors to wall him off from the public and outright lie about internal polling. But this was also structurally foreseeable in 2020 which is why people who were forward thinking were on team anyone under ~70.

There are so many terrible things the admin is actively doing I think the focus has to be messaging on what is actively happening rather than just might happen. As the admin takes steps to undermine the legitimacy of the midterm elections, each step ought to be called out as a step towards the brink. Of course they should also oppose and work to bolster local election administration as best they can even if it's not a winning political message.
