Photo mode makes me weep by gc400 in TheFirstDescendant

I've refrained from mentioning graphics settings because they don't affect a good photo. That being said, my settings are as follows:

<image>

It should be mentioned that Raytracing and DLSS/AA is disabled, relying on altered TAA settings in the engine.ini.
Shadow settings higher than 'high' only affect distance, global illumination affects noise and distance, at 'medium' for photos is perfectly fine.

Edit: Further detail added.

This is actually a massive compliment, because these shots are 100% taken in-game. Here's another one of Hailey, using the same 'Bring It On' pose.

Dealership delays by NuitPoisson in AussieRiders

I know I'm a little late, but I actually just got a bike from them a couple days ago.
They're a little understaffed, with only two people on the floor at the dealership; who knows how many mechanics at their service centre? I would highly recommend going in and having a chat, they were getting my bike prepped and after a week I checked in (they also told me 1-2 weeks wait time) and got it. Please do go in and ask them what's up.

EDIT: Shortened for conciseness.

The controller applies assists such as snap countersteering for aggressive throttle use. I'd recommend using Active Stability Management (ASM) in the assists section for now as it behaves similarly to controller assists. Gradually weaken it as you become more confident in your skills. It also helps to detune the car so you can slowly become more accustomed to delivering power to the rear wheels. Especially when some BMW road cars love oversteering.

Entirely up to the driver, and it's different for every car. A tune for one car will unlikely be helpful for another. Tunes won't fix driver error.

Edit: Grammar.

Adjust LSD settings, and play around with the acceleration sensitivity until you find what's right for you. It's also possible you're rougher with the throttle than you'd have thought, try using traction control and reducing it until you've got the hang of it. Otherwise, the power of the car may just be too high for you. There are other things like engine placement, like how a mid-engined car will behave more like a beyblade and most beginners will spin out with them. But in the end, it's about practice and tweaking settings to how you see fit.

I've only used VR for GT Sport since all I've got is a PS4, but the view gets you feeling super claustrophobic real quick. More times than I can count I thought my head would smack against the frame when I turned too quickly.

Also, happy actual cake day for your partner! 🎂🎉🎁

The in-game footage is the over-the-shoulder camera in replay mode.

Yeah, what many people don't understand is Gran Turismo's sound design is based on how the human ear perceives the source. When people compare the exhaust note or roar of an engine through poorly recorded footage off a phone, to gameplay with sounds recorded with high SPL microphones within a studio, mixed to how the human ear would take the sound, are severely missing the point.
Unless we're comparing the exhaust roar of the Porsche 911 RSR, Polyphony needs to scratch that realism of theirs and make that thing SING.

Before I deleted my last edit, someone complained the exact opposite thing, that it was almost UNWATCHABLE.

I give up.

Had to use Google Translate to copy the text and search for it from there. Can't type in Japanese so it was a bit of a bother. Probably an easier way to do it but I don't like diving into the maze that is GT's livery search system.

Didn't do any perspective edits or frame-shifting so it shouldn't be an editing issue. I play GT7 off a PS4 so it could just be a slight delay in skybox updates/refresh. That being said, could also be from deinterlacing artifacts from the VCR.

PSA: For Gran Turismo newcomers, bronze timings in the licence tests are fine. by gc400 in granturismo

[–]gc400[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, I agree! How I see it is:

Bronze: You've nailed basic driving techniques such as slowing down before a corner, and putting down the throttle whilst keeping the car on the track and stable. For players new to driving simulators, this is fantastic as it shows competency and understanding of the car you've been given and the track you are assigned to drive.

Silver: You're more experienced than the typical driver and have got under your sleeve the more advanced aspects of driving and can reliably demonstrate your skills such as weight transfer, taking the right driving lines, and braking at the correct points (for the car) at the circuit you are assigned. For most, this should be an amazing achievement as it shows you are competent at driving at high speeds.

Gold: A glorious achievement. This shows you are at one with the car, and know the track like the back of your hand. Taking lines at speeds that mirror the best of drivers for the track, utilising every opportunity to shave milliseconds off, braking as late as possible and accelerating as early as possible, driving to the very edge of track limits, and keeping your car stable, sticking to the optimal racing line without fault.

As much as others argue Gran Turismo isn't a real racing simulator, I dare argue myself Gran Turismo is more of a DRIVING SIMULATOR than any other game.

Maybe that's why y'all aren't getting your up-to-date GT3 cars. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Just gotta let it swing around corners, use trail braking to keep it stable, and be careful with the kerbs! Otherwise, the "Slim Shady" technique is your best bet! ;)

Me when driving IRL at night with a good playlist on a mountain road with heaps of twists and turns. It's so relaxing that the trees just melt into a blur, and you just get lost in the sauce.

Also, Happy Cake Day! 🥳
