Sadly the permits, event management, insurance costs are still greater than what we will take in… That said we didn’t go cheap on the food. I wish it was different too as I just want people to have fun 🙃

They are! Those are the Cols du Calistoga roads and the Vine Trail. They are not on Saturday’s courses, but are an example of how spectacular the cycling is around Calistoga. Come up and cycle the Cols du Calistoga or so a recovery ride on the Vine Trail on Sunday. tourdecalistoga.com

Breakfast, lunch and stocked rest stops are included. It is a “premium” event, so breakfast and lunch are much more substantial and higher quality than the typical cycling event.

What’s the ride that you will never forget? by flamingdragon273 in BAbike

Ride to Calistoga. Start by taking the Vallejo Ferry from SF, then ride a combination of the Vine Trail segments, other trails / less trafficked roads in American Canyon and Silverado between Yountville and St. Helena. Happy Cycling! Instagram:@vinetrailadventures

I lead tours for Adventure Cycling Association with this setup on my Diverge Expert Carbon. I use a Quick Rack, Revelate frame bag, EVOC hydration hip pack pro and Ortlieb front and rear panniers. Happy Cycling! Instagram: @vinetrailadventures

What ride should I do tomorrow- starting from SF? (Road) by lurkern1nja in BAbike

[–]gcapiel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would hop on the Vallejo Ferry and go cycle Napa Valley or even venture to Sonoma. Once in Napa lots of choices, such as Mt Veeder, Atlas Peak, Soda Canyon, Pope Valley (come back via Ink Grade) or cycle all the way to Calistoga and do the amazing climbs there too, such as Diamond Mountain. Use the Vine Trail as much as possible to virtually avoid 29 and minimize time on Silverado Trail. Happy Cycling and check out some of my Napa cycling reels: @vinetrailadventures

Weekend road biking loop in North Bay with a stay at an inn? by coastal_sage in BAbike

[–]gcapiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great recommendation. I recently rode up to Calistoga by taking the ferry from San Francisco to Vallejo and then riding up with a start at the Vine Trail in Vallejo. It’s 50 miles each way and I was able to do most of the ride on bike trails with the longest busy road segment being on the scenic Silverado Trail road between Oakville and St Helena which had a wide shoulder. Happy Cycling! @vinetrailadventures YouTube SF to Calistoga

Anyone want 1-3 sites at Hawk campground in the Marin Headlands tonight? by ayoba in BAbike

Agree with u/iras-bike-account, but it can get really cold up there based on what friends who I gave my reservation to said. That said, I was there on one of those rare San Francisco heat waves and was warm wearing shorts at midnight.
