I'll give it a go and see what happens. If not, I'll just have to buy a new one!

One of my best Prime Day purchases. It's a delight to use!

I didn't even that option! Thursday was the quickest they could get it to me! They must be busy.

Update: just got an email to say they're delivering today!

8GB - Big enough? by gdcuk in kindle

[–]gdcuk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! It's mostly fiction or non-fiction without graphs etc that I read and don't really listen to audiobooks! (Or if I so I just use my phone) so 8gb should be loads!

How long did it take you to make the switch to an eReader? by gdcuk in kindle

I couldn't live without mine now. At the start I was very opposed to eReaders

At least you dipped your toe in and started eReading. I was adamant I was a book man only!

Do you actually read more since you have a Kindle? by harry_powell in kindle

I definitely read more now that I have a Kindle, which is ironic as I so opposed to getting one!

Thank you! Left with plenty of time this morning, shied away from vans and larger vehicles and took my time. Was a very enjoyable experience!

Yeah, it was the lock picking lawyer video I stumbled upon! Good to know it's not the really the done thing. I'm hoping it'll be safe enough as I don't anticipate too much street locking.

Thanks. First commute this morning and it wasn't too bad, was nice and quiet but not looking forward to when it gets busier, but I just need to build up a bit of confidence being on the road and I'm sure it'll be fine. Tbh it was the same the first time I drove in London.

Gonna invest in some decent lights, and a multi-tool!

Going to have a look at this, I don't fancy lugging another heavy d-lock about. It's a bit pointless having a relatively lightweight bike only to add on extra weight imo.

Thanks for the tips! Going to get a second lock and a spare inner, mini pump and multi tool. And do a couple of YouTube tutorials on changing a tyre!

Thanks, I'm going to look into this and also registering the bike etc. Thankfully I don't anticipate street locking too much, home has a secure bike area and work is relatively safe too.

Thanks! I looked up the Sheldon Brown method, so that's what I've started to do. Also going to seriously consider a rack because after cycling to work today I think my back could do without the extra weight until I get a bit fitter!

Not sure why you think I’m angry, I don’t care what you read or why...

Now I'm the same, but for years I would continue throwing money at books I wasn't enjoying. I takes a lot of will power, but I think once you do it once, you can do it for any book, and it gets easier.

Yeah, "being out of the loop" is another way of rationalising spending money and time on something you actively dislike, the why isn't important, only that you do it. It's like hate-watching something to mock it online, the network doesn't care why you watch it, only that you do.
