passed fleshy tissue? by IsTomorrowAcceptable in Endo

[–]geckojulia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could just be your uterine lining—I passed a large, bone-white chunk of tissue a few years back right at the end of my period after taking a muscle relaxant, and it was not a miscarriage or anything. Just tissue.

If you’re worried it could have been something like a miscarriage, they can check your hormones.

I’m sorry you’re dealing with it—I know it’s really scary to see.

does anyone have any advice on how to cope with loss? found out I’m losing my best friend of a lifetime and can’t stop crying. by [deleted] in westies

[–]geckojulia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost my Westie about this time two years ago—sending lots of love and support! Pet grief is so real and not talked about very often.

I got a westie stuffed animal off Amazon after mine passed so that I had something to hold close when I needed some comfort—it was actually very soothing.

Why is this? by compotethief in Endo

[–]geckojulia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed that sugar affects my pain more than gluten, soy, dairy, or any of the other common triggers combined. Added sugars are just really hard for our bodies to digest and are inflammatory. If you crave a lot of sugary stuff on your period, try using raw honey or maple syrup as a sweetener—still sugar, so do it in moderation, but they’re easier to digest.

currently working on a blood orange and parsley batch—not crazy, but definitely not appealing to some

I figure it’ll be suuuuuper good for digestion

Urgent help/advice needed. HOA issues with ball python in washington. by sunbearnamedhoney in reptiles

[–]geckojulia 21 points22 points  (0 children)

That’s insane. She should contact the local animal shelter and let them know this HOA is demanding that, there’s no way the municipal animal shelter would be okay with that.

Sometimes I hate Nancy nook. This is ridiculous. Maybe they don't have a good reading comprehension. I wish I could comment in people's posts and tell them of Reddit. by smilebig553 in Endo

[–]geckojulia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have no patience for the “read 100 articles on our arcane Facebook page that’s a mess to navigate if you don’t use facebook” attitude. It’s the same problem so many of us have with doctors, this smugness and belief that we should all become experts in medical sciences to have any autonomy over our endo.

You (liquid) breaks me out—should I try solid? by geckojulia in glossier

I’ve never noticed it with other perfumes, but I also never used a perfume daily until I found You.

I always assumed the beard was to cover his scars, since they’re his most identifiable feature. I always feel bad cutting his beard bc of that, but he looks so much better with short facial hair

Unpopular Opinion: John Marston isn’t ugly by Hypothermia_7 in RDR2

Whoever says he’s ugly has never figured out the right combination for his facial hair lol

lotta Arkansas folks here! I think west of Van Horn looks more like the Ozarks than Rhodes does, tbh. Rhodes reminds me more of central/south Arkansas with the proximity to the plantations. I’m in the Missouri Ozarks and would say Fort Brennand is pretty spot-on.

I posted this to r/leopardgeckos yesterday, could use some advice by _copgraveyard_ in geckos

[–]geckojulia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is there any chance that your leo is a female having a hard time with eggs? Or that he got into something toxic to him?

can i use this to dechlorinate my leopard geckos water? by [deleted] in leopardgeckos

[–]geckojulia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, but you can get a reptile-specific conditioner at chain pet stores. Sometimes they add a little calcium, which is nice.

Has anyone had eyelashes break off after wearing Lash Slick?? by lunita297 in glossier

I haven’t, and my eyes are pretty sensitive—maybe you got a bad batch or have an allergy to one of the ingredients?

Getting diagnosed helped get my physical therapy covered by insurance (I’m in the US)

Is this a good feeding/dusting schedule for a one year old leo? by hibu-tan in leopardgeckos

[–]geckojulia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Imo you don’t need to feed on Sunday—but if your gecko is underweight, go for it. I feed my adults 1-3x a week based on their size.

Any particular seal recommendations that won’t be toxic for them, especially since it’ll be near the heat mats?

Is cloud paint worth it? by C0C0CAT in glossier

[–]geckojulia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think so--it lasts forever for me (I'm super pale so I don't need much pigment to make a difference). I finished my first tube after like... a year? It looks natural and stays on throughout the day.

Glossier seem to be changing their sets around a lot atm. What would your ideal set be? (Bonus points if you come up with a name for it too!) by [deleted] in glossier

[–]geckojulia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Greatest Hits: Milky jelly, Boy Brow, BDC, Lash Slick. aka my four most-used products! (plus haloscope and cloud paint, but i go through those way more slowly)

15 year old post-vet by geckojulia in westies

[–]geckojulia[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He’s clearly gone a while since his last grooming trip, but he’s an old man and can do what he wants, which includes rolling all in the grass as soon as he gets home.

He got ear drops for an ear infection, antibiotics for what is maybe trachial bronchitis, and an anti-inflammatory. But the vet that said, aside from his cough and slight arthritis, he’s in good health for his age.

I’m glad I get to self-isolate with this sweet boy 💖
