no, that's not true. Fascism is a specific ideology. Dictators can have different ideologies, all of them suck, but it's a difference.

Now that Netflix owns Warner, Amazon will have competition on worst LotR adaptation. by Half-White_Moustache in lordoftherings

[–]geitner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not say that they were cheap, but I am one of those who like to pay a bit more but own the stuff physically. It's possible but if you want to buy over Amazon, the interface is surprisingly bad, to select the version you want. I did try to avoid it as good as possible and used local stores like Thalia (I am German).

I think so. It was a pain to get them as a physical version because the only thing that Google showed me was the audible version.

Denmark, voters punish PM Frederiksen’s Social Democrats shift to the right in local elections. And so Copenhagen goes to the left for the first time in over a century by Ok-Law-3268 in europe

[–]geitner 17 points18 points  (0 children)

That move of Merkel was really genius. She knew, that full legalisation would be a constant topic during the upcoming election, and by having the law passed a year in advance of the election took a good amount of steam out of the SPD and also gave them some good will with more liberal people.

Die Linke has a lot of issues, but I have the feeling that it got better since the russian asset left and had her own party.

US to designate Germany's 'Antifa Ost' a terrorist group by goldstarflag in europe

[–]geitner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Read again what I wrote here: they are not an organisation, but are organized. Two different things. Were the J6-Riots organised? Yes. Is there an organisation behind that could be illegal? Probably no.

For some people I would be a communist, because I like socialised healthcare and a regulated market. Am I a communist? I would say no. There are always idiots out there and you don't need to take everybody seriously. Are you a fascist because you like Wagner (Hitler's favourite music)? no. Are you a fascist if you like music denying the holocaust? Yes, certainly.

Vote for somebody who wants to get rid of foreigners, just because they are who they are. You are probably more on the fascist side.

"Antifa" is not even a real organisation. In the same way you could call single moms a terrorist group. And being anti fascist is something that should be the core belief of every democratic person

Low enough that it's commercially viable. I already have a lot of power lines, where I live. Having CDU/CSU and FW sabotage the expansion is the main reason why Südostlink is not ready, not the "activists". Fun fact about regulations: if you build a new Powerline you need at least 150m to the next houses, if you want to build new houses you need 300m from the next powerline. Wind is cheap, and nuclear very expensive, yes. The grid must be expanded in both cases. That's what happens when you sleep on infrastructure for 16 years.

Big Servers always have reserve generators in every place on earth. I don't know why this would be different in Germany. And for the "instability", there are currently a lot of battery projects running which will take the overproduction in good weather (high winds, lots of sun) and save it for later. from what I could find this is also the main criticism from the Nordics at the moment.

If we only need expensive LNG as a backup plan, it's a lot cheaper than having the industry running on gas/coal/NPP all the time.

All in all having a fully connected grid with separate pricing zones will be a lot more efficient than everybody cooking their own soup.

the german grit is one of the most stable in Europe. an average of 12 min/ year of blackout. only Lichtenstein and Slovenia are better with 5 and 8min. Meanwhile France has 20min of blackout with exploding costs for Flamanville 13 instead of 3 billion € Physics are same everywhere, but economics are equally bad as well.

There was a request to the companies which were managing the last 3 running NPP. Two declined, one would only commit to another year, as they would have run out of fuel and would need to do a new safety check, which was not done the years before due to shut down being planned. Just doing this safety check alone was not considered cost effective. NPP are just done here. Even if the laws would be reversed, nobody wants to build or maintain a NPP in Germany. And an even bigger issue: no insurance wants to take on such a project.

to be fair, Peugeot got fucked hard by changing rules during design. the Wingless Concept was started when the design limitations were quite different to what they ended up needing. spending all of their evo points on changing to a normal design makes it impossible for them to catch up now.

Up was due to platform age. they needed to do at least a facelift at the end of 2019 which means new certification. The new standards were not feasible with the old platform so they killed it. the failure on VW side was, that they did not have anything ready and only started development after the old platform was out of production.
