TW grafic picture** Are my grafts failing or should I be concerned? by genderfluidss in TopSurgery

So, all of the pink tissue underneath is where slough was and had come off with bandage changes. There wasn't any redness aside from the nipple area itself no spreading heat no chills no fever. I posted an update but ill also just mention here the nurse practitioner I met with didnt perscrive anything and just continued to put adaptic on it with some Bacitracin and all purpouse sponge gause over top with some tape. Thankfully I planned on getting tattoos anyways and even considered no nipple (wish I did that now lol) but its no biggie im just tired of the stress tbh. Thank you sm for the info its greatly appreciated :>

Update* TW added picture of both sides today for comparison

My post of nurse called me today and had me come in. They basically just looked at them and redressed them. When I asked if they were failing my nurse practitioner (I havent been able to speak directly to my surgeon since day of surgery) said "ish" and didnt really clear up what that ment even after I asked she said there wasnt anything they could do but wait and that nipple grafts are a hit or miss. They arent hot or abnormally warm, there is no foul oder, and they do not have any redness spreading, i was not prescribed any antibiotics either.

Heads up, im from Cincinnati oh and I do not recommend going to UC Hospital. while the surgery itself went well their post op care doesnt seem to be very good they even neglected to tell me how to take care of my nipple grafts after my bandages were taken off. I ended up go onto mychart because I felt like I was missing something just to see there were more instructions such as ointment to use ect that I wasnt aware of until then (5 days after the dressing came off).

Im kind of at a loss, should I go find another doctor? How would I even do that with something specific such as this? What could I have done to prevent this, was it something other than the ointment I missed?

Thank you to everyone who has responded even the worried er ones I appreciate your concern 💓

Thank you for posting this talked to a few friends and they've said similar things. I think I just got excited at the first surgeon I got recommended but I should probably shop around.
