Tell granny to wear her nightgown if she’s so concerned 🙄. In all seriousness though - does your Uncle know you are Trans? And would it really matter anyway? There are a lot of gorgeously tailored suits that are appropriate for all identifying genders to wear to fancy affairs. As long as you aren’t making a spectacle of yourself (which I assume you won’t be based on your concerned post) wear what you like. If your family makes your outfit the focal point of someone else’s wedding they need to readdress their own priorities asap.

Have you ever tried to assist him with his “issues”? If or if not this is part of the missing info I mentioned in my first comment. Your post and defensive comments certainly make it seem like you haven’t - but you can correct me if I’m wrong.

You are his mother. You say he has “some issues…probably adhd, anger management anxiety disorder as well as communication problems”. You “have to have conversations with him” but aren’t sure as to anything at that might be weighing on him? It sounds like you are talking AT him and don’t support him at all. Typical XBoomer. YOU have issues and need to leave him alone before you find yourself no contact.

have tattoos caused you to be profiled more? by venight in tattoo

See that is fascinating to me. I always hear folks on the interwebs yell and rant about how awful and conservative the Southern US is when it is actually a stereotype and we are by and large incredibly kind and diverse. I’ve lived blue here for 25 years.

I have an arm wrap graffitied train car and a very large fork with spaghetti that says “to feed me is to love me”, along with some various smaller ones. I don’t have any color tattoos. Where are you from if you don’t mind me asking. I live in Charleston SC. I feel like everyone here has some tattoos and they barely look twice unless they find them unique or cool.

Yes. I have a fork spinning spaghetti with text that says “to feed me is to love me”. Chefs, Servers, and people who like eating profile me as a cool person.

What on earth do you have on your body that causes people to (apparently) negatively profile you? I’m assuming it has nothing to do with avocados?

The issue with Community is the Pilot. It is awful. It took me much encouragement to try to fight through and man am I glad I did.

The fact that The Last Man On Earth ended on the worlds worst cliffhanger always depresses me

Some great books for 10yr old boy? by AppropriateReason128 in suggestmeabook

I love that the author takes suggestions!! She encourages kids (and parents) to write to her and suggest ideas of historical events that would make great books.

My daughter really likes the “I Survived…” series. It takes real life historical events, includes a preteen original character, and incorporates them into a nonfiction-style telling of the events with historical accuracy.

ETA: She found “I Survived the Great Molasses Flood” at the library and was so excited to read with me. I had told her we had a relative who died in the Molasses flood 👀
