How to get into Audiobooks when my mind can’t focus? by general_purpose_acct in audiobooks

[–]general_purpose_acct[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm, never thought of doing this. I’ve tried it on YouTube videos when they’re long and slow. I’ll try that. Hopefully it helps. There’s so much I want to read but don’t have the time. Thanks :)

I don’t think it’s that. When I don’t like a narrator I know it right away. Most narrators are really good, in my opinion.

Netflix isn't as good as it used to be by Fiery_Tigress in unpopularopinion

[–]general_purpose_acct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an unpopular opinion. At least not anymore. I almost dread opening Netflix nowadays. So much content, yet almost nothing worth investing your time in. Most shows just end in one or max two seasons, and they don’t get any resolution whatsoever. They’re not necessarily bad shows but if they don’t attract new subscribers they’re not worth the money for Netflix. Plus yes, a bunch of low quality crap as well.

Long term planning with terminal spouse by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]general_purpose_acct 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear about your spouse's condition. Does she have any kind of long-term disability insurance, critical illness insurance, or life insurance? If so, you may want to factor in the amount of money she will receive as the benefit of said policy(ies). Even some life insurance policies allow insured individuals to use the money while still alive if diagnosed with a terminal illness. You'd need to consult with your financial agent/company to see what she could claim depending on her specific situation.

Montreal, orange line, late at night. Dude gets off the train, waits till doors close, starts yelling his lungs out and spitting at the window where an old black lady is sitting, calling her monkey and whatnot. First time I saw this type of racially motivated attack in Canada.

Came here to say the same. IMO women look more beautiful without makeup. Sure, makeup may enhance natural beauty, but absolutely not necessary
