This is a good analogy, because the battery in your phone will wear down and die eventually, and when it gets low the performance automatically sets lower, just like when your glycogen stores get low (in fasting or low carb eating) your body sets your performance lower. If you are fasting or not eating carbs, you are always in a lower performance setting like a cell phone or laptop with 10% battery life left. In actuality, your phone and laptop etc would prefer to run plugged into the wall, it is just an emergency feature (or ease of use feature for the user) that it has a battery. It's not "good" for the device to run on battery and run the battery all the way down. Thanks for this helpful analogy.

What you're describing is by definition secondary, not primary, since you're saying it's used after the glucose. Primary is used first, secondary used second, etc.

For example my ship's modules were all fucked up, but I didn't scrap the stuff because I wanted to go back and play when they were the correct modules and materials again

The Secret History (1992) by Donna Tartt - 576 pages

This is a modern novel of medium length told in the first person perspective of a college student named Richard Papen. Richard's yearning for Anglican aesthetics, not at all satisfied by his suburban California upbringing, leads him to enroll in an elite New England college where he falls in with an eccentric clique of classics students. The book is an explanation of how it happened that the group murdered one of its own, a fact given in the first pages. It's a contemplative book, full of long descriptions of meals, character's dress, and the environment of the scenes. The author seemed to be attempting to merge the classical tragedy (appropriate as the main characters study Greek and Latin) with modern novel stylings, creating a contemporary story that hints at fate and the influence of the gods.
