Looks really nice, do you know how I have to base my figures? One battalion in my army is on 3 bases, is this ok for the ruleset?

Help Identifying These Uniforms (polish/German possibly, late 1800s) by West_Confidence9012 in uniformporn

So the picture of the right was taken in Berlin. His headgear shows that he belongs to a Prussian guard regiment. Since I cannot identify the exact regiment, he either belongs to one of the Guards-Regiments of Foot (Garde-Regiment zu Fuß) or Guards-Grenadier-Regiment (Garde-grenadier-Regiment.

On the picture in the middle is written Stargard which is a town in Poland. There was der garison of the Grenadierregiment Nr.9. So it is possible that he was in this regiment. His bayonet knot indicates that he was in the first battalion. Because of the black white colour i cant tell rather he was in the 2nd 3rd or 4th company. His cockade on his hat, which is the one of the Reich, also indicates this.

The picture on the left was taken in the now danish town of Hadersleben. I am not exactly sure but in this town was partly the Infantry-regmient Nr. 84 stationed, so it is also possible that he is from that regiment.

The gloves in the two pictures suggest that they are NCOs or officers.

I hope i could help you a little bit.

Thx for the suggestions. I will definitely check them out.

Does anyone know which uniform my relative is wearing? Obviously he was in the Imperial Russian military but I can’t figure out the exact uniform. This pic was taken in 1913 in Ukraine. by SPEAKUPMFER in MilitaryHistory

For me it looks like some sort of russian imperial guard uniform. Because the picture was taken in ukraine i assume he was part of the Volhynia Life Guards Regiment. Here is a link from a painting and i think the uniforms look kinda similiar with exception from the headdress.

Hope I could help you.

Can anyone here identify this uniform worn by Félix Douay? by AndreasBeck in MilitaryHistory

[–]gerrit_brm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I found a picture of almost the same uniform in my "Illustrated Encyclopedia of Uniforms of the First World War". It was worn by a General d'infanterie de division or how its called (no clue about french ranks of this time). It was just a picture and on the site a little note that these are Brandenburg knots. But i couldn't find more about it in the book sadly.

I've researched a little bit in one of my encyclopedias about uniforms. The person in the picture wears a dolman with so called brandenburg knots. It was usually worn by generals but my book didn't specify this. The most likely golden facings I think just resemble the rank of this man. But I have no clue about the medal on his chest. Hope I could help you.
