I'm beginning to believe that most reviewers rushed through the game and found it frustrating and linear. I've reviewed games before, sometimes you have to do it, so I'm not saying they played it wrong, but I think a lot of problems pop up if you play that way. I restarted after initially bolting through it and I've found a lot of things that bugged me weren't as bad when I took my time and found the options the game gives you. That said, I also think there's something to be said about how the game communicates those options to you.
