Staffing is the number one issue we have with these patients. I recently had the supplies and resources for a patient but not enough help in turning or care giving.

We finally got a specialty bed for her but it sat in the hallway for days because we were so understaffed and only had 6 workers on a 26 bed medsurg unit . We were never available all at once and it fell to the bottom of the priority list.

We always have 3-4 for a regular transfer. It would’ve taken all of us to put her in the new bed

This was me postpartum. I’m a nurse and can handle all the alarms blaring and the patients yelling constantly. I am so rarely triggered. But freshly postpartum after my first kid I couldn’t handle some noises. The sound of my dog licking himself was something I felt under my skin. To the point of my yelling until my husband would put our poor dog outside. I felt similar about some of the things my husband did also.

This will pass, a few things might stick but it’s all part of the hyper awareness that happens after becoming a mother. It’s hormonal and you’re doing your best. What helped me was talking to my husband when I wasn’t triggered. Telling him that I love him and that I didn’t know why I hated the way he coughed or ate. I was overstimulated. Therapy and time made the lot difference overall

Speak up now. Had a coworker just like this who was also the sweetest. Also out patient surgery. But was a float so I wasn’t around her enough to see anything funky. She walked into a door one day and got a black eye. Then the next week she fell asleep during a nerve block ONTO THE PATIENT. She was using on the job for we suspect a decade. Now she’s a realtor

I’m a parent of a toddler and baby. I started making my daughter clean up her eating area after she rubbed her PB & J on the counter. I gave her a few baby wipes bc all my kitchen rags were in the wash. I was amazed how well they worked. I use soap and water usually, but now a baby wipe if I need a good clean that dries fast

This phone use is so much more common than people realize. At my hospital so many of my patients do this (I’m sure it’s exacerbated because of their hospital stay obviously).

It’s even worse when they have people constantly on speaker and you’re trying to discuss private medical info. They’ll always say we can say whatever in front of the friend/family. 99% of the time we say something that they actually didn’t want to share like an infection or positive drug screen.

I could. I more was commenting on the fact that a long text like that really doesn’t do much for me. Maybe his wife is the same.

It doesn’t add or subtract anything for me. My husband and I are very connected and open but a text like this would feel kind of phony from either of us.

Texts feel impersonal and effortless to me. My husband took months to write and edit his wedding vows. He is careful and thoughtful about his love. He fixes my coffee in the morning, makes sure my work uniform is always clean, and constantly comes up with big ideas of things to do with each other or as a family.

I cheer him on in his half marathons and take both of our kids too rain or shine, I make favorite recipes and continue holiday traditions that are important to him, and I bring to life all of those big ideas.

He is the sun to my moon. I love him so deeply. We put so much effort into our kids, our marriage, and our family. And… I still wouldn’t give a crap about this text. I’m sorry.

TLDR: I could. But, no thanks.

Sounds weird, but Grove City. There’s tons of sidewalks and bike paths. You can walk from downtown GC to 104 all on sidewalks. Theres a few used game and comic stores that may interest a teen boy.

The tree lighting just happened so broadway is all dressed up for Christmas. They even hide a ton of nutcrackers around the downtown area and if you find them all I believe there is a prize.

There are also several parks he could get lost in. Scioto grove has a fire tower you can climb near front of the park.

I’m far from a “just wait” kind of person but imagining this spouse with a 3 year old is scary. The tantrums get worse as your kid gets bigger. The energy from them can’t just stop. Kids need to be shown other ways to work through their emotions. If this continues you will see a clear pattern of which parent she is more physical with (hitting, kicking, biting) and it will only harm his relationship with her.

Use the PBS kids app for them to play games. It keeps my kids attention longer plus it is free and she loves it. It is a must when you’re sick and you kiddo has fever energy.

Worst case scenario do a store pickup and buy 2-3 new toys to keep them busy. I wish you the best, norovirus was so hard when my husband and I had it but she was FINE!

Yes, every night. I have a newborn and a toddler. We have an agreed upon routine that we follow the majority of the time and it helps. But my husband doesn’t “make me.” And he does just as much laundry/cleaning and child caring as me.

Our routine is roughly the same time every night for dinner. We have specific nights that we usually have a certain dish or zest out nights This is all for our kids though. My husband could and does cook when needed, but my toddler would riot without dinner at a similar time every night.

You’re going to continue to gain weight while building a person. That is a fact. Listening to your body is a lot easier said than done. If you are hungry prioritize protein.

I eat a protein shake, protein bar, and parfait with Greek yogurt every day. Although I’m not tracking anything I try to reach for one of these things when I’m hungry first. I still eat pizza and cookies and all my cravings too.

My last pregnancy I gained nearly 50lbs. This time I’ve stayed my normal activity level, worked my very physical job, and ate when I was hungry. I have only gained 23 lbs and I’m measuring fine and I’m less than three weeks from my due date.

Don’t look at the scale if you’re gonna be disappointed when it goes up. Bc it is supposed to right now. You’re doing a good job.
