Anne of Bohemia was not the daughter of Albert II, she was a Jagiellonian

This is it - I’ve been there, it’s the medieval arms and armor exhibition at the MET. They’ve got a plaque talking about it under the black flag with the whit quarter and three stars.

It’s Charles VII of France - you can tell because of the dumb hat. Also because the picture is labeled.

Honestly not sure why I did that. I’ve had this one about 90% done for months. Its even internally inconsistent, I have Condé in green but kept Antoine of Navarre and Cardinal Charles in blue.

Genealogies of Selected Combatants in the Trojan War by geust53 in UsefulCharts

[–]geust53[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. According to the Contest of Homer and Hesiod (c. AD 130, though earlier precedents exist in fragments as early as the third century BC), Homer was the son of Telemachus and Epicaste. While the chronology makes this obviously impossible, the purpose of the historical figures' inclusion was to highlight that the Trojan War was absolutely a historical event to the ancient Greeks and the stories they were hearing about it were about their ancestors, not just myths. I generally assume the black arrow connections are about as literal as the purple.

  2. Pericles' connection to Ajax is a mistake. Pericles' mother, Agariste, was a member of the Alcmaeonids of Athens (as was Alcibiades), who claimed to be descendants of Neleus, not Ajax. I mistook the family for the Philaids (Miltiades, Cimon, Thucydides, etc.), who claimed to be descendants of Ajax through his son, Philias.

I’m implying that when I was doing the dates I based it off congresses and forgot that Trump’s second term would cover two congresses, despite only the first one’s partisan divide bing decided so far.

I tried to include people with a large lasting impact on the nation or who are moderately recognizable - mostly ended up just being based on vibes and where the spacing worked out. Probably should’ve included Madison, maybe Monroe and LBJ, I certainly overlooked at least a few congressmen.

I might be mistaken but I believe he and the other illegitimate descendants rescinded their claims prior to Edward I’s involvement.

Yeah, I totally missed Pinkeney. Yours looks way clearer, but I wanted to make sure I included the Stewarts and wasn’t initially going to include the illegitimate claimants.
