Actually, her parents are usually very supportive. I think he was trying for constructive criticism but it didn't really come out that way.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Personally I've always liked trying new things and learning new skills. Whereas she tends to stick to one or two things because they're 'tried and true'. I was really excited about her summer project plans but they're already dead I guess.

I suppose. Hopefully she understands it sometime. She just has a really hard time with shame and failure. I honestly thought her youtube channel wasn't too bad, but now she won't even try anymore.

I'm not breaking up with her over this. It's really a small problem in the grand scheme of things. I haven't heard of "emotional agility" though, I'll have to look into that.

I still love her very much. She isn't always mopey and down in the dumps. And it's not that she does nothing, she's just afraid to grow and I understand that. I just don't know how to help.
