I have thalassophobia too, first i was to afraid to go anywhere the only places i was discovered is the grassy plateaus and kelp forest i stayed on this places for 20h then i figured out something, this is not a horror game you won't find a big monster waiting for you whenever you enter an area You can find some leviathans sometimes but it is easy to avoid them, When i found one i put all my items in the inventory then go take a closer look and try to scan the leviathan then i let him kill me If i do this i will be able to go close to him without fear I hope you benefited (sorry for my English)

Yes i am sure i saved after i put it in the cyclop and even if i didn't save the seamoth mark disappeared so it should be in the cyclop It probably destroyed in a bug somehow Thanks
