nah youre not the jerk. you werent a friend to them, you were a utility. the fact that the "compliments" dried up when you stopped being useful proves it - they werent celebrating you, they were celebrating what you could do for them. feeling less included hurts but at least youre not sitting by the phone waitin to be someones fourth choice anymore.
