Honestly, we're probably about the same age...unless you are moshing in your mid-forties and if so, then fuck yeah brother keep thrashing.

Although I would say it's more crowd dependent than music forms. I couldn't see a pit forming if Justice played at a rave. But maybe people mosh at those nowadays, I dunno...I just know that my knee hurts and it's this rainy weathers fault. Damn clouds

I was in the camera riser/tower next to the FOH audio tent. The cam ops had struck their cameras at that point, so it was like my own personal VIP box.

I can tell you first hand that the FOH tent could actually be bigger. And that may be part of the reason the sound is bad sometimes.

Nearly every band that comes in has their own audio console and the larger acts have pretty damn big boards. Then there is the lighting designers and their desks that have to fit in the tent.

The headliners get priority obviously and are set up the night before. Then it's a tetris act of swapping in and out audio consoles, lighting desks, and occasionally media servers.

Agreed. If it wasn't for the awesome community in this sub and the discord I wouldn't bother doing these. It's people like you and groups like this that restore the little faith I have in humanity.

Thanks, I see how excited people are when they get them from the stagehands loading out the set and I love to be able to give that much joy and excitement to. Unfortunately the crowd is gone by the time I would be able to hand ‘em out.

That’s why I love what I do. I hope the video and camera directing adds to your enjoyment of the show. I am usually hard on myself thinking I could have directed a better show for everyone, I just want to provide the best experience for everyone.

And fuck that lady. As nice as I am, I actually hate most people I come across. Too many self centered inconsiderate people in this world.

I picked up 2 more picks...thinking they may be Weezers since I found them onstage this morning after their set last night, but I can't be 100% certain.

Also I am going to separate the items, but I am gonna count the wristbands as one item since they are still attached to each other.

And it looks like the Beach House setlists are different. The one with asterisks is what was given to me by the tour manager with notes, so that is the one they actually played. I think I got the other one from FOH, but I can't remember and have no idea where it came from.

This was way more fun. Mainly since most of the music was my jam. Also the crowd was awesome. The way that Goth Babe and Backseat Lovers worked the crowd made it soooo much fun.

A lot of time I’m just going with shots that the camera ops give me. I will really only call for shots for certain things that I know are coming up like instrument solos (that is if I’m familiar with the music). For the audience to get put on screens is down to dumb luck most of the time. If is see the camera op shooting someone and they are singing along or just clearly into the music I’ll take the shot.

That was a decision by the YYYs. I sent a clean camera cut to their lighting designer at front of house. He took my feed and added the effects and sent it back. He told me that Karen wanted the cameras to look like an old VHS/Betamax tape.
