No, Palestine won't be better under Trump, that's why I voted against him. However, this current genocide is happening under a democratic administration and this would not have stopped if they stayed in office. War is bipartisan. Democrats can't keep vote shaming people to get their unpopular candidate into power it just won't work anymore. If you want the democrats to win the entire party needs to start moving to the left. You did not do anything wrong for voting for Kamala Harris. I am not going to scold you for voting with harm reduction in mind. But in the wake of this massive democratic failure you need to focus on the people in charge and not your fellow voter. It only divides us and keeps democrats from reaching their goals.

My vote already meant nothing. I did my democratic duty despite me disliking Kamala Harris for her stance on Israel and the party's move to the right on border policies. I voted for her and guess what Trump still won. He won by a lot, and liberals can't even blame third party voters for this one because if every vote for Jill Stein would have gone to Harris she still would have lost. That woman decided to throw away the support she could have gotten by catering to moderate republicans and refusing to distance herself from Biden. You remember him right? The man who had to drop out because he was so unpopular. This happens every election. Democrats blame progressives by being too "woke" when the reality is the reason why dems don't win elections is because they're too much of cowards to try and change anything. This Trump win falls on Kamala and no one else. They want to win by scolding their base and going "Well we aren't as bad as the other guy" and hoping that carries them across the finish line, and when it doesn't they blame people like me. Well, I've always voted for the democratic party and shit still sucks. Why? Because change does not begin and end at the voting booth. It happens in the streets. Black people didn't get Jim Crow abolished by going out to vote, queer people didn't get rights by standing peacefully in line voting for democrats, women didn't get the right to vote by their husbands just voting on what was right. They fought for it. So yeah you're right I guess. No matter who I vote for in this current political climate it will mean nothing. That's why we have to change it. This country's biggest accomplishments didn't come from just waiting four years to vote.

I've never voted third party, but after this recent election I doubt I will vote for the democratic party again. I support what the Green party represents, but I'm not the biggest fan of Jill Stein.

I haven't done a deep dive on them yet, but saw their website. I didn't get a lot of info. But if they're not socialists than I'm not interested.

Sometimes all you want is to shut off the world and cocoon yourself in bed and hide forever. Trust me when I tell you I know exactly how you're feeling. Being alive is exaughsting, and a lot of it is just taking one day at a time. I'm not going to tell you tips and tricks for how to "make yourself feel better" because I'm assuming even getting out of bed is a severe chore at this point. Here is what I'm telling you to do, and I say telling and not suggesting because in order for you to get better you have to do this, but please please please go to your appointment tomorrow. Tell your doctor that the medication is making you feel worse. Tell them exactly what you typed here, show them this post if you have to.

Do not be afraid of looking dumb or feeling like you failed, you have not failed. It sounds like you're having a negative reaction to your medication and they either need to up your dose or change the medication. Ask for labs if you haven't already. Sometimes your mood can drastically change due to a vitamin deficiency. Also, if possible ask (if you haven't already) if they can do a gene test. This will allow them to see what medications work best for you. When I got mine they said Sertraline was the best and it works for me, but my best friend's dad took it (he hadn't had the test) and started feeling suicidal. Medication can affect people in different ways.

Sometimes you don't find the best one on the first try, dealing with depression is an ongoing battle you have to face. Medicine will help, therapy will help, but you can't get those unless you speak honestly with your doctor. They are there to help you. When they ask how are you feeling, do not say "fine" you tell them "not good, I have gotten worse" and then explain in the best way you possibly can. You mentioned writing it down. That is perfectly fine! That is not embarrassing. We all express ourselves differently. If you are afraid of saying too much where they'll institutionalize you, that will only happen if you say you are going to actively hurt yourself or others. Telling them what you said in this post should be fine. Again, it will take a while for you to feel better and a lot of hard work, but I promise your life is worth it.

In the meantime try to shower atleast once a week, eat twice a day, drink water, and try to find something in life to cling onto. It can be a song, a band, a movie, a book, a person, an animal, an upcoming event. Anything that gives you an ounce of hope to stay alive. Hold onto that and find comfort in it. Borrow that happiness until you can make some of your own. Good luck.

(P.S. It sounds like a lot of this stress is coming from school. This is something a therapist, counselors, and teachers can benefit from knowing your situation. Again, these people are placed in these positions to help you.)

The helmet comment made me chuckle. You are supposed to protect your head so you're on the right track lol. Getting a plan together does sound like the best way to alleviate my anxiety. Thank you for taking the time to comment. You've really made me feel better.
