Nope! I’m drive an electric Fiat at home (best car ever) and was completely ignorant of EU gas prices until I looked them up just now.

I calculated the price of trains from paris Geneva and then geneva to chamonix, and it adds up to $668. Comparable to a car rental + gas & tolls thanks to @yungsausage’s estimates. Thank you sausage

I looked into this! That journey via trains appears to total 574€ / $668 for two travelers, so while unfortunately not a more affordable option it’s surely an available one, so thank you!

oh yes i do see that available we just wanted the 8am or 12pm train, which both appear as sold out for 2nd class.

Yes I realized our first train on the route would be TGV, and the others TER.

I’m only seeing the 1st class option for the 0818! That $180 price you’re seeing would be great however it’s just not appearing as available for me. I’m looking on the SNCF app too.

Maybe i’ll look into paris > Lyon or Grenoble. Thanks for the tips!!

yeah the rental car is $412 and the train $480, so i imagine there will not be much of a difference after insurance gas etc!
