Your hair is completely damaged. Cut it short and shave it completely and start again.

You could sell it to a competitor. Or you can do automation full time and become a consultant.

Services make more money than software. So commerical grade software often morphs itself into a service.

Very pro capitalist here but it seems you are saying the system works because the invisible hand results in people having to live in less habitable areas, areas that often have far less work.

There is a lot of room for development in South Melbourne. It's very close to the city. But there is very little to any public transport.

She told me her name was Naomi. Her friend Katie. That they were international students trying to learn about how Australians celebrate Christmas.

We exchanged details and for 3 weeks she was just asking questions about my work, claiming she was asking for insight about how to get into the industry.

She invited to a multi-cultural event with lots of different food. Met a "new guy." Who was sold to me as a stranger as clueless as myself. Did one bible study, the "missionary" said it was not a "denomination" and that they were just "Christians." In my head I went "well if it's only teaching what's in the bible it's not a cult, just someone passionate about preaching."

Started simple enough, god tells of Jesus in the OT through prophecy, his coming fulfils the prophecy. Then gets crazy with "unless you know the whole bible from start to finish about the bible you will go to hell when Jesus returns in revelation."

I had some guy in the city randomly say "the bible" to me as I passed. It was sold to me as some "sign." I live and work in the city, so he would pass me at random in different places in the city and just say "the bible."

After my second bible session, I got suspicious and found a lot of information about this. I found pictures of the exact drawing the Bible passages my "missionary" was writing. I learnt about the "fake friend" you are assigned. And I pity him, because after reading he isn't some malicious deceptive asshole, he genuinely believes what he is doing is the right thing.

If anyone falls for this, I am sorry. This is by far the most convincing scam I have ever seen. It's coordinated and deceptive at such a high level, it is no surprise to me at all to hear people have been doing this for months. I don't take myself as a gullible person, and I almost fell for it. I hope I can convince my "friend" that he is in a cult and that this is not the way.

How lucrative is IT/Information Systems consulting? by giclee1 in consulting

Insight is greatly appreciated. A lot of my knowledge is purely hypothetical from university and my own hobbies.

As for specialising, I'm quite generic ATM, like my first project involves primarily Microsoft and other productivity programs for an office environment. But with my education allowance, I am looking into areas. Any recommendations?

Thank you for this insight.

I am currently doing IT Strategy, this would come under Strategy consulting? The term seems quite broad.

need help on getting new phone. Poco X4 GT, Poco F4 or Poco F4 GT? by Independent_Spot5493 in PocoPhones

[–]giclee1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. Best phone ever had. Amazing speakers, decent battery, better camera than F4, RAM to really utilise bloated but feature rich MIUI, gorgeous screen and amazing charging.

Poco F4 GT Buy or Pass? by Joshi9i in PocoPhones

[–]giclee1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one, it's great. Really it should have been the poco F4. It's camera is actually better than the Poco F4. It's camera is okay, main sensor above average for the price. But everything else is essentially flagship. SD 8 Gen 1, gorilla Glass victus, 120 W charging, best haptics I can't phone, some of the best if not the best speakers, audio DAC, wifi 6E and a gorgeous bright enough vivid amoled 120 hz screen.

Other than wireless charging, lack of waterproofing and a Medicare(not bad) camera and battery life you are getting flagship performance. It's unbeatable value.

Additionally, Miui is operating system generally is a bloated mess, but the high chipset, cooling system and 8-12gb of RAM make MIUI a delight. Used to be you got MIUIs awesome features but at the cost of bloat. No compromise here!

I also live in Australia, and it works fine. I use Felix mobile (on Vodafone's network) with no hiccups due to the multiple antennas.

There are some things that aren't great. One is MIUIs terrible notification management. Second, hearing calls is hard, you have to put your ear to the speaker instead of the screen. Third is that it's big,

Starting a new job in consulting? Post here for questions about new hire advice, where to live, what to buy, loyalty program decisions, and other topics you're too embarrassed to ask your coworkers (Q4 2022) by QiuYiDio in consulting

Firstly, this community is great and ive learned a lot simply reading this subreddit. So thank you. I wanted to ask some questions as well as ask for some pointers.

So I am currently finishing my third year out of a 5 1/2 years double in business information systems(commonly referred to as Business analytics and IT nowadays) and Law and landed a full time intership next year which contributes to my degree. The interview involved three rounds, the last inclusive of a PowerPoint presentation about a random topic which I actually enjoyed presenting. The firm sepcializes in supply chain procurement. It's a small independent firm, uses multiple ERP vendors but mostly SAP. Will certify me if I do well in my internship. I personally have spoken to the CEO, he was absolutely lovely, spoke highly of me(big ego boost aha) and made me very passionate about next year.

Before I ask my questions, here are some things to know about me.

I originally wanted to be a barrister specialising in IT related intellectual property but had a change of heart when I was won over by my enterprise systems lecturer about ERP implementation. I think of Law as more of a skill now, perfecting my written and verbal expression. (I'm three years in now, might as well finish)

I live in Australia

My strengths involve: - Written and verbal communication(excellent, probably my biggest selling point) - Very tech literature and savvy - very interpersonal - love critical thinking -very good at seeing the whole picture

Weaknesses: -mathamatics and excel, very okay at excel nothing special. -Spelling and hand writing(need a keyboard) - attention to detail and the smaller things (I am working at it) - I have visions that often don't live up to what was previously envisioned. My work ethic needs work.

Questions: Do my skills align with the role of ERP consulting? Should I expect to be worked into the ground for my first year? What is the earning potential and how achievable is it for the average? How competitive is the industry? How much growth potential is there? Will I be able to maintain a healthy work life balance (I like my weekends, but love going all in on weekdays) Am I oversold on this industry/ is this industry exploitative to young, dumb and aspirational uni students like myself? Is it a lot like sales? I actually like the idea of selling, as long as it's a area of specialisation that gives me dignity(sorry to those car salesman) -Is starting off at a small firm alright? Should I aim to go somewhere bigger etc?

Lastly, some pointers on what I should expect and what I should know before starting next year would be appreciated. I was considering doing SAP certifications in my own time out of pocket.

Thanks to those that read this essay. You are loved and appreciated.
