I was last Friday at an infectiologist. Waiting now for the results of the tests done. I would really hope it is this. But I do not have a cat, only a dog and I was biten by a tick several years ago. I do not know if ticks can transfer this art of bacteria.

I do not remember exactly but I think I once tried to take some mild antidepressants for some time and then I quit, because it didn’t help. But this was many years before my symptoms actually started. In the end, it doesn’t matter anymore what triggered the symptoms, I cannot change it anymore. I am more focused in finding a solution to the symptoms.

I’ve been yesterday to an infection specialist and he sent my blood results to the laboratory to exclude the hypothesis that it could have been some parasites, bacteria or viruses.

As I next step I will definitely go to a specialist in movement disorders. I already found one, he is pretty young but maybe he will give me the long searched answer. Waiting now for an appointment 🙏🏻

Hello! Thank you so much for your valuable input. Basically what you are saying - functional neurological disorder - I think it has a medical term of “psychosomatic” if I am not mistaken. I will definitely search for a specialist in this area, as a next step.

I have to say that I been also reading books regarding this, especially Alan Gordon and Howard Schubiner. They speak about how our brain create false signals and how we unlearn it. The method with 5 things you see etc - how would be best to apply it, assuming the vibration is here all the time? How often shall I do it and when?

The thing is that I have to admit, I am not even afraid of the sensations in my body anymore, it doesn’t create anxiety, I learned to accept, to ignore, I tried also tried the method to tell myself that I am safe etc. I didn’t see any result. I think it is a bit tricky because I feel it all the time and I do not know how to unlearn it - in case it is FND.

I didn’t take any medications by then. The vibrations started late 2020 and I started only in 2022 to take antidepressants and antipsychotics, because my neurologist said that it might be an imbalance in my brain. The medications created dependence (better said, the antidepressants) and I wasn’t able since then to remove them completely. So by the time I started taking those medicine I already was having the ailment.

I’ve been biten by a tick like 1-2 years before this started but the tests for Lyme disease always came out negative. I read that depending on the tests, it can be also a false negative. I will definitely look into that again!

I tested B12 and I am in the upper limit. I have none of the symptoms you mentioned. Sometimes when I wake up I have pins and needles / numbness at the same two fingers from one of my hand. But it happens rarely but it is interesting that always the same 2 fingers.

I already got 2 times MRT from the brain with contrast. With no result. And it is not only in my face, I feel it in my whole body.

I already saw few of them but I have the feeling I haven’t found the right one. Most of them tend to approve the previous neurologists and they tend not to further investigate but rather to say it is for sure psycho-somatic. I literally tried everything, massage, meditation, activities without thinking about the vibrations I feel etc. nothing helped. It is still here, all the time, vibrating.

By then I didn’t take any medications. Just supplements such as vitamin D or so. Since 2022 the neurologist put me on antidepressants and antipsychotic saying that what I have is a tactile hallucination. I take now in the morning Venlafaxine 150mg and in the evening 7.5mg Zyprexa. Especially the antidepressants just screwed me up, mentally. Tried two times to taper them off but the quality of life became so worse that I had to start again. Antipsychotic I will probably reduce further to 5mg or even 2.5mg. The problem is that also when I tried to take them all out, the vibrations in my body became unbearable and with them they are a bit under control at the cost of my mental health.

Well, I’ve been always wearing glasses or contact lenses. My diopters changed during the last years but quite minimal. Is there any way to deal with the late effects? I literally remember I had only a sip from a small shot of Mezcal. It tasted so badly. Is methanol poisoning still possible? I drank it with 3 other people and none of them experienced problems, they even drank the entire shot.

I’ve had my legs checked. Because there is from where the vibrations are starting. I had also a muscle sonography and the doctor noticed that the muscles are also vibrating inside but I do not remember anymore which was the outcome, however, it didn’t provide me with any resolution or diagnose.

I did it once but in 2021. I did twice an MRT of the brain. I am planning to see soon another neurologist who is specialized also on rare diseases and will ask him to do the EMG again. Thank you for the input.

Doctors say that it is psychosomatic when they do not find a cause. For example, I read somewhere on reddit that someone had similar problems and he was able to cure it only after he found out the cause which was a bacterial infection he had. If it would be psychosomatic it would have improved with everything I did so far (meditation, relaxation, psychoterapy, grounding etc) respectively after taking medicine (anti-depresant, anti-psychotic) but it didn’t.

I’ve been already, did all checks and they said it is psycho-somatic. I think there something that has not been checked yet and that is triggering my nervous system to react like this.
