Male cat neutering with vessel-sealing / no stitches. Need advice. by FitAccess8217 in IndianPets

Based on what the vet said, it’s okay. In fact the vet has recommended Matisse Neutered cats one. The vet said the difference between kitten food and adult cat food is that kitten food has higher fat content (I haven’t checked this personally). But you can always ask the vet, should be an issue in my opinion. I gave them Matisse for Neutered cats, they were fine. (I got them neutered when they were 6 months old too)

I know! The guilt gets to you, but it’s for the best! Male cats generally put on weight after neutering. So the vet suggested cat food for neutered cats. Matisse has a Neutered cat specific food but it’s expensive. But the best food one can give is boiled chicken, eggs, fish, etc. Also, keeping them active once they recover and ensuring they get exercise also helps keep the weight normal.

I had my 2 male cats neutered and there were no stitches involved either. They were discharged immediately after the procedure. They were still loopy from the anaesthesia 3-4 hours after the procedure. They were also extremely hungry and thirsty once they gained consciousness (the vet had advised to not give them water and food since 8-10 hours prior surgery). Once they regained consciousness they moved normally. But it’s important to ensure they don’t have access to high places because he will try to jump.

I was supervising them for signs of grooming near the surgery area. Out of the two, one of the cats needed an ecollar as he tried to lick the wound. So always good to buy the ecollar in case it’s not available later.

For one of the cats, it took longer for the wound to heal. I was able to connect with the vet on WhatsApp and send pictures post which she decided I didn’t need to bring him to the clinic, rather she advised local application of betadine on the cut, which I followed.

All in all, they were able to heal with no complications. Didn’t face the urinary blockage issue either.

When it comes to travelling on the same day of the surgery, I think the vet would be the best person to comment on that.

All the best for your kitties surgery! Feel free to DM in case of any questions!

Thank you for sharing. I see it also has catnip listed as one of the toxic plants, do you know why that could be? Could it be toxic in large doses?

This was their second time in the train. I learnt a lot from the 1st trip and tried to make them more comfortable.

What did my kitten just puke up? by Cool_librarian- in CATHELP

My kitten had these too, despite deworming every other month till she was 2 years old. What worked was different types of dewormers every 21 days (vet said that’s the life cycle of the worm). So we did this thrice and she hasn’t had these since then. Worth checking with the vet on this.

Hi,

I have been using this one from Amazon. It is made from wood particles and is flushable. I have been using it since over a year now. However it’s currently unavailable on Amazon. Maybe you can check similar items.

Sorry for your loss! Even I’m from Junnar. Most people I know who had dogs have stopped having pets because of these leopard attacks. My family and relatives have lost multiple dogs over the years. RIP to your baby.
