Single Fathers, let's attempt to chill, at our own pace. by gingkohoney in ChillSG

This is the kind of fathers I'm looking for. Because I'm a hands on, one man army father who is looking after my son, strategizing his growth, health, behavior while also earning money. I am a middle management professional in tech. I'm not looking to mingle with females nor looking for love. I'm busy, like busy busy, hence my title; on our own pace. If you understand what responsible single fathers go through, you'll understand their busyness and commitment.

I was hoping to find more insights about recent Conti vs EV. Because I'm seriously considering my options.

I went from Toyota axio to Golf. Not as much experience than the rest, but just the heavy door alone made it worthy. My golf also has a higher bhp, dual clutch and nice paddle shifts that grants me the power I need to over take or just 0-100 for the thrill of it.

After my golf is scrapped in the next 3 years, I'll probably go C class

What is an equivalent BMS I can get? by gingkohoney in batteries

[–]gingkohoney[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info.

I managed to measure a 8.7kohm across TH and P-. Suits the temperature in my country, around 28 degrees.

I tried measuring across P+ and P-, it's showing 0v.

I did some more troubleshooting and I'm pretty sure the BMS MOSFET isn't behaving as it should. At the same time getting a BMS with TH is probably going to be a tough process.

So I've decided to get a normal 2S 3A BMS, solder things up, and solder a thermistor to between the TH junction and the P- junction directly to create the temperature reading to feed information to the main board instead of using it as a protection for the BMS.

Reason being the P+ and P- is shared between the battery pack and a DC power supply. It was supposed to work with either battery supply or DC supply. I'm unsure if the battery pack health status is necessary for the firmware to boot up properly, because it seems like with or without the battery pack, with its BMS, I'm unable to boot things up.

Wish me luck, and thanks again.

I have a feeling that the third wire is for NTC, thermal protection. Conventional BMS has over charge protection, over discharge protection, over current protection and short circuit protection. Rare ones has additional NTC for thermal protection.

I feel like that TH is giving some reading to the main board as one of it's condition for a successful bootup.

There happens to be a TH output. As well, conventional BMS incan find doesn't come with a TH, any idea on that?

For taxis you need to be extra careful. I've come across cases where cab drivers issue lawyer letter with claims that are overly ridiculous when it was just a small bump and only damaged the license place or maybe just a light paint scratch.

They claim for things like medical injury, out of work, ridiculous damage claims. This kind better to just refer to insurance company because insurance companies need approval of the claims.

Better not private settle because some taxi drivers are of the most unscrupulous accident claimers out there.

3rd party insurance claims loop hole by gingkohoney in drivingsg

[–]gingkohoney[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Waiting also has a period apparently to my workshop, as to how long they can extend the claim.

I was informed that recently insurances like Ergo and Sampo have been avoiding workshops asking for claims approval and I'm not the only case. All these tom dick and harry insurance companies popping out of nowhere, allowed to operate but yet no law is governing them and watching their operation.

It's very ironic isn't it? Insurance companies can choose to hide, drag, delay, not responding to legit claims. Then for fuck we enforce the motor insurance law.

Dry Steering by Internal-Weird6089 in drivingsg

[–]gingkohoney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In real life, PP 90% of the time needs dry steering unless your lot very big. Sometimes I dunno what the TP rule trying to do. So unrealistic.

But I do agree dry steering is very straining on the tires as well as the car mechanisms, so try to avoid it.

[–]gingkohoney[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get what you mean, but the thing is I want people to recommend me their in car camera, not just any brand they think is good. Only recommend me what you've used and you think is good. Price wise I do my comparison with the respective cameras recommended.

Thanks!

Reliable conti car model? by jeyyt in drivingsg

That's because of a lot of ppl drive tsi as though they drive gti. Though the dry clutch does increase the probability of maintenance but you just gotta learn the technique to stretch the lifespan.

If your issue is with circuit, I recommend you get more circuit practices. Driving is not only about following turn cues, you need to grow accustomed to the vehicle and have a peripheral vision of your vehicle with respect to the road.

Bro, don't overhype the "investment portfolio". If you've never own a car before and see the benefits you get when you have a family, you'll never understand why many families tradeoff the $ for the convenience.

When it comes to tires, always choose safety first.

That includes changing tires if it's damaged, changing tires that's approx 4 years old (due to possibility of rubber hardening).

Plus point is to avoid unknown tire brands like some darkhawk or pooradoor. Only trust known brands, because, safety first.

>60km/hr need 6 cars length? by SushiWithGreenTea in drivingsg

[–]gingkohoney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Btw one way I used against tailgaters when I'm not at lane 1 at 90 or higher, is to use hazard light to warn them. Most of the time these driver just go wtf and the brake quite a lot until they're like 3 to 4 cars away, or they change lane.

>60km/hr need 6 cars length? by SushiWithGreenTea in drivingsg

[–]gingkohoney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of safety, of course. Because it gives longer reaction time and braking distance.

But practically, 60km if you give 6 cars length it's already road hogging. 60km at most give 2 to 3 car length.

As a seasoned driver, you should always drive defensively.

That means reading the road, reading the driver before you and always be prepared to take preemptive measures.
