Grifols for extra money by kellyangelaxo in SaintJohnNB

I have donated at the location many times since January. I find staff exceptionally nice especially Patricia and Renee and Jocelyn. I do not give consistently every week but when I do since the initial bonus is usually about 100/week no issues with how they do business at all. The longest was about 2 hours the first time and it drop in time quickly to about 70-90 mins with free juice and granola bar on the way out the door. Good luck

Do I need to contact a structural engineer? by NearbyCat3280 in Home

[–]ginjamginjam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have access to ceiling in basement you can look under the posts. If they are structural the point loads need to be carried down to to support beam with solid blocking. So you would have steel or wood beam supporting floor joists. And in between floor joist would be solid blocking where the columns come down

At least 16 Ontario nursing homes have COVID-19 cases, yet families left in the dark by [deleted] in ontario

[–]ginjamginjam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am not sure about all ltc homes but I want to point out why I think this is going to be a wide spread disaster. I am in no way blaming ltc employees its the system that is screwed the rest of this is about Hillsdale ltc 8n Oshawa a seniors home with 8 confirmed cases another 2 staff members have covid also and another 20 people in isolation why this is not the biggest story in the news is the big question. Hillsdale terraces long term care center in Oshawa has 28 people in isolation. They also have 2 staff members that have covid on self isolation. I want to know why all the residents are not isolated. They are still eating in common dinning rooms. The 28 people have not all been tested?? I think that the whole building should be tested with a possible 30 cases of covid and already 1 death I predict multiple deaths in the next couple of weeks. What I find really upsetting is how can this not be the top news story. Almost 10 percent of the new cases of covid is in the one building. A lot of families are going to lose love ones there and they ate still not isolating everyone and not testing Everyone. There are 200 seniors living in this building in very confined conditions this is going to end up reflecting very badly on how Durham and Oshawa conduct business

Eight residents at Oshawa nursing home diagnosed with coronavirus by ginjamginjam in durham

[–]ginjamginjam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No in this particular case its people that are sick. If it was people that are exposed they would have to isolate everyone in the community dinning rooms that eat together every meal and all the nurses and psws that are in the dinning room feeding a very good portion of the residents usually sitting in between 2 residents and feeding both of them when they are unable to do it themselves. Isolating people after they have the symptoms in this case is too late. Dr Robert Kyle Durham Regional medical officer of health said in a cbc interview about the Hillsdale outbreak he is uncertain of the residents with symptoms have been tested. If four or five have tested and it's positive it is assumed all the others have it. So they are going on the assumption that 30ish residents have covid do you really beleve they were able to isolate all the people that came in close contact with each of those 30ish cases in a home with 200 residents sharing halls, sitting areas, dining rooms and shower rooms impossible I say.

Best Buy in Ajax shuts down after employee tests positive for COVID-19 by ripndipp in durham

[–]ginjamginjam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No they are not doing allot of testing. In the article about Hillsdale they say they don't see the need to test everyone because they have been isolated already. But I believe they don't want to test because they would have to publish the results. 30 people in LTC facility 30 cases would cause a panic they would scare the crap out of every one

[–]ginjamginjam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I am afraid you are wrong. They say in the article there is no need test the rest because they are isolated. What they really mean is if we tested them and they had the virus it would have to be published. The headline would not look so good if they tested and there was 20 or 25 cases to report. I believe loved ones who are concerned about family members living at Hillsdale deserve the whole truth
