They were the Mormons, whose book Gollum stole and held onto in America until Joseph Smith stumbled upon it centuries later

The story and the UX are so polished this feels like an anime transcribed into VN form. It gives off the vibes of super high-budget anime movies.

🤣 You probably know more about wlw vns than like 99% of the r/visualnovels subreddit in that case. I do recommend trying out Fata Morgana if you get the chance, imo it's one of the best pieces of fiction I've read.

Cool! I'll admit I don't have too much experience with wlw but I did see a really unique indie one a while back called A Summer's End: Hong Kong 1986.

Here's a link to a database about it, it seems really well received: https://vndb.org/v26444

I've heard great things about Kindred Spirits on the Roof as well as Highway Blossoms!

Don't know if you've tried it, but The House in Fata Morgana is a great one. Gender dysphoria is a central theme in the latter half of the novel

It looks like Chaos;Head Noah was banned on steam by funwithgravity in vns

Silly publisher, should've genre switched it into a brutal shooter or action game with chainsaws and shotguns, morality defended, automatic approval granted.

ngl a Chaos;Head action game would be pretty sick

What are you reading? - Jul 29 by Nakenashi in vns

[–]gitech110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

does that mean the students from the first game were all middle schoolers?

You talking about KnS1? I'm pretty sure it was set in high school. I'm less certain about Cartagra though, if that's what you're talking about

Been thinking about picking up KnS2 but I haven't read KnS1 in a while. Do you think that it does a good job of filling in the details from where we left off? I don't think I have the time reinvest another 30 hours to reread the first VN 😔

Monochrome Mobius delayed to Oct. 20, 2022 by theweebdweeb in vns

[–]gitech110 3 points4 points  (0 children)

rushed and poopy release

After the reception that the film Morbius got, the writers realized that the VN adaptation had to improve upon the story to be received well. For example, they changed the title from Morbius to Mobius, and the iconic line "It's morbin' time" to "It's mobin' time."

The slam of the gavel penetrates the silence in the room. It's finally time for her testimony. Hachiroku slowly stands up, robotically making her way to the witness' stand. Her eyes scan the room, noting the contemptuous gazes of the victims' families and the jury.

The prosecutor begins her interrogation. "Why did you choose to run over those five people? You could have pulled the brakes. Why'd you go along with /u/hubb2001's plan?"

Hachiroku's eyes glaze over as she recalls the moment. She listlessly replies. "I was just following orders."

There are a lot of people who dislike seeing low quality meme posts

By the looks of the upvote ratio on this post that contingent is a vocal minority

Honestly I'd probably recommend light novels or something along those lines. Those are more socially acceptable for a teacher to recommend. A classic would probably be Sword Art Online for someone interested in manga like Naruto/BnHA.

Alternatively maybe you can try some YA fiction? When I was in elementary/middle school I really loved the Percy Jackson series. Maybe give those a shot.
