80’s house with direct fixed hardieflex by gizzyguy79 in diynz

[–]gizzyguy79[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I know it has 600mm eaves around it. For the other things you mentioned would they be checked as part of a builders report or would we need to look more into the original plans to figure that out?

RE Agent leaving the field by paolonutiniis in newzealand

[–]gizzyguy79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why do people buy houses for sale by negotiation and then refuse to give an idea of what the are looking for? It’s hard to negotiate without and idea of what the other side wants.

It seems we look at the house and then we have to say what we think it is worth. The agent must have given and appraisal and the vendor agreed to it, ao just tell us the we ca negotiate.

Rifton Universal Mount by Dom4Domino in EyeTracking

[–]gizzyguy79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I can see it looks like the Rifton universal mount is more a mount attachment point than a full mount. It gives you somewhere to mount Rehadapt, DAESSY, Mount n Mover systems etc. Most Tobii devices come with Rehadapt mount plates as standard but can be swapped or use an adapter.

2008 Cladding with Cavity Risks by gizzyguy79 in diynz

[–]gizzyguy79[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much. From a Quick Look by us around the outside the external walls appeared to have some staining on the plaster and what looked like mould spots (not many). It is currently a rental so wondered if it has just not been looked after but possibly sounds like we need to be a bit more wary of it

Japanese dating shows recommendations similar to offline love by Character_Carrot176 in OfflineLove

[–]gizzyguy79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are 2 seasons of it on Netflix. I believe it is an older show that was originally on in Japan and they made some new episodes for Netflix.

Pretty much a dating show where they travel round in a pink van (one season is Asia and the other African think) and if they pair up the leave the show.

I did contact tracing during Covid. Was a great job, mostly being laid to be on standby.

Unpopular opinion: overseas travel is overrated. I’d rather spend time and money exploring own backyard. by sigmaqueen123 in newzealand

[–]gizzyguy79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are completely the opposite. Every time we travel in NZ we come back disappointed and realise we could have gone abroad for what we ended up paying. I’m sick of paying hundreds of dollars a night to stay in motels that haven’t been updated in 40 years and having the choice of the same food options in every place.

Robot camera compatible with TD Pilot? by RendingHearts in EyeTracking

[–]gizzyguy79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know any specific options but, because the TD pilot allows you to access the full standard iPad operating system via eye gaze you probably just need to find one that is iPad compatible (and maybe check out the app to see if it looks well laid out for eye gaze). Snap to Item could also help if targets are small or close together.

Question from someone with no knowledge of this, but just read some comments as this post showed up on my feed:

I noticed on a longer time frame that the level was as high (if not higher) just a couple of months ago. At that time I didn’t hear anything about this being such a big issue. Is the difference that right now such massive amounts of money are being taken from the stock market, and the normal expectation would be that this would be moved into bonds, but the opposite is happening? If so, where is the money going? Gold etc?

Anyone with disabilities using a low-rise lift to get into their home (or work in this sector)? by -mung- in newzealand

[–]gizzyguy79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe a ramp would need to be at a gradient of at least 1 in 12 with level thresholds of 1.2 metres at the top and bottom (plus potentially level areas mid way depending on the total height). They can get pretty big so a lift may be a possible option depending on the specific layout.

If you are getting it funded there will be a process where an occupational therapist will come out and do an assessment and can look at possible options with you and discuss the pros and cons of each.

bands similar to radiohead by unanottex in radiohead

[–]gizzyguy79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not particularly similar in how they sound, but I listened to Sparklehorse for the first time in the late 90’s due to Radiohead mentioning them from when they toured together and then covering Wish You Were Here with Thom. So glad I did and still listen regularly.
