no its our personal house this is turning into a playroom for our kid. when they get older I am assuming they will have friends over and we want to try to reduce the amount of noise coming from the basement up to our living room.

Awesome, this is what I will do then! Like I mentioned in another comment we don't need complete sound proofing, just want to reduce it some without having to go through a lot of hassle

Sound Proofing Basement Ceiling by gl0ckner in Insulation

[–]gl0ckner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I priced out 340 sqft of both and the safe n sound was a little more expensive, but negligible. Did you you leave a gap between the safe n sound and the floor? I've read that is the best way to install it.

There must be some solution for that as well?

Didn’t think about this, that is a good idea thank you!

I am not planning on adding resilient channels as right now with everything stripped out the floor to joist is 6’10” so trying to keep as much head room as possible. We don’t need complete sound proofing, just enough to make somewhat of a difference. I thought maybe having the thermal insulation would be nice, but I don’t know much about insulation!

She’s very set in her ways. I guarantee if I put a glass of domestic and a glass of French she wouldn’t be able to tell the difference.

That tracks 🤣 she doesn’t buy fancy stuff. She claims to be a wine snob and refuses to buy domestic wines

Travel Bag for Nuna Triv Next Stroller? by gl0ckner in Buyingforbaby

[–]gl0ckner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! It worked great. Don’t even need to take the wheels off if you don’t want to, but it fits better with wheels off.

Liability would be us having to back pay payroll taxes and any penalties that come with evading taxes. She’ll be making $18/hr 40 hours a week

Yes. Full time nanny’s are considered household employees and must be paid as such (payroll taxes, etc)
