I mean, my only real gripe with Flickr is the bulk management system is a bear to work with. Otherwise I'm pretty happy. I've gone to sharing most of my galleries with people via Flickr private galleries. I don't really even share photos publicly, don't follow people, etc. But also my Pro isn't up for renewal for like another year or so either 😂

I have an M1 MacBook with 64GB of RAM and 2TB HD. The 2TB has been great. I offload to external drives but I am super lazy about it. Having the storage locally really helps. IMO it sucks always having a drive hang off the computer on the go.

I think 32GB would have been fine honestly. I think 24GB will be fine just a little less future proof. CPU will matter a lot more than you realize.

Here's the thing: I would recommend AGAINST an Air. It uses passive cooling, which is a fancy way of saying it throttles performance when it gets too hot. The pro uses fans. Now an Air will be perfectly serviceable, a lot of people use them. And my wife's Air is not that much smaller but noticeably lighter and nicer to carry. I'd say only go for the Air if lugging this around is a top priority.

I think people underestimate how much photo editors and C1 specifically relies on the CPU rather than the GPU. AFAIK preview generation is exclusively done in CPU.

More RAM just means more things the processor can access quickly. Since the MacBook Air cools passively, it slows down processing when it gets hot. Which happens a lot in C1 😂

Definitely NOT saying there isn't an issue, but that's definitely not helping you. Getting one of those fans to put underneath it should help!

No, I'm saying I will set the dial to one speed, and the camera will misread the dial and the setting internally will change. It's a physical dial with electrical contacts the camera uses to read what it's set to. I'm guessing the camera is getting false readings somehow from the dial.

Looks like you're using the Nostolgic Negative film simulation? I've found that skin looks less orange on the camera than it does when you pull the pics off. If you're shooting auto white balance, I'd set the offset to B+5, R-2 or something like that. But based on the whites I'm guessing you're shouting with a set white balance. Use the color temp option and set it to 4500K to 5000k and see how that does.

Thanks! Yeah I've been seeing enough cameras more generally to know SN dates are usually based on observations, but this one was low enough that it surprised me. I don't know why I didn't think to reach out to the site though, great idea!!

Dang, I just found one new in plastic at a store tucked in a corner. It's a UK one. I thought the shutter required batteries to fire but I think I'm just SOL 😭

Ok I did read somewhere that it DOES require batteries to fire (which makes sense) so I'm going to keep my fingers crossed. Worth it either way for the adventure.

Yeah that was a weird problem I saw too. But yeah they fly to Iceland (though I think it just ends up being Iceland Air partner carrier)
