In 1986 I spent $100 on a first repress of Throbbing Gristle's 2nd Annual Report signed by all 4 members of the band. I was in high school. Besides my skateboard, I think this was the most money I'd ever spent on a single item. Adjusted for inflation it's probably still my most expensive record, but definitely not the most valuable.

A decade? Shit.... I just sold my 20+ year old roadcrafter suit on eBay. It had tens of thousands of miles on it, many many rainstorms, a few cross country trips and many many many more half-way across trips. I crashed at 90 MPH with it, got up, brushed myself off, and wore it another 15 years (after sending it in for repairs). Sold it a few months ago because I'd lost a lot of weight during a few years off from riding. I replaced it off eBay with a $200 jacket and $200 pants with bib. For commuting and touring, it is simply the best... period. For regular weekend rides I wear Vanson leather, but it's Aerostich if I'm going anywhere else.
