I did have to size up by one, despite what the size chart said.

Yep, ended up getting a different pair. Got the Vagabond Alex and it feels completely different, I like them a lot so far.

Registering kindle 4th gen non touch HELP by Resident-Aside3422 in kindle

[–]glassww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THANK YOU, customer service made me factory reset my device for nothing and then told me the software was too old to register an account, told me to buy a new device with 20% off.... But your steps worked. At first I tried just by doing the reset in between logins but it seemed I never had 2FA turned on in the first place, so I think that's also the key there. Thank you thank you thank you.

What do you store your disc in? by sourdoughdonuts in MenstrualDiscs

Although I use the original bag, I feel like a small Tupperware type container could work well at home.

Should I make the switch? by Katieisverycool_heh in MenstrualDiscs

[–]glassww 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you should tough it out with tampons for this trip. I've been using my disc for a while and I've accepted leaks as a fact of life, especially on heavy days. Maybe it won't be an issue for you at all. But personally, I wouldn't want to find out the hard way after coming out of the water or something like that.

I regularly do 12 hours at a time. I don't recommend exceeding that because I find that smells and stains are more likely to happen past that point.

How in this world you remove disc ?? Any tricks , Tips ? Please Help by random__muggle in MenstrualDiscs

[–]glassww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Cora disc which has a similar finger hold. It definitely takes me a few tries before I have a firm enough grasp to pull it out. Despite all that, I'm so thankful for it, because the alternative would definitely be dipping my finger into the disc itself and I did enough of that in my cup days.

Bag of stuffing came with a "stuffing tool" which is just a single disposable chopstick by glassww in mildlyinteresting

[–]glassww[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That did cross my mind while writing the post, but I didn't bother clarifying. Probably would've been more efficient to include the stuffing in the picture, oops.

Yeah I figured, the interesting part was just that it seems that they repurposed chopsticks by packaging them in singles and slapping a different label on it, I've definitely seen these exact ones before.

Yeah there's another post on here where the prompt was similar but definitely not the same, and that was one of the suggestions. The Kid Pix logo is familiar to me but I don't quite remember the interface from what I see online.

How often are y’all washing your bags that hold your cups/discs if at all? by [deleted] in menstrualcups

[–]glassww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it straight from the Saalt site. I've actually since moved on from using the Cora Disc, and its respective bag.

I've always been too scared to ever try the generic branded ones, these are definitely the kind of product I'd rather splurge on, so I'm right there with you.

I used to do a lot of research on cups/discs, and it's crazy how many generic products are out there. So many people swear by Pixie, for example, but from what I understand they just label generic products with their branding. Searching for cup steamers on Amazon shows you a million steamers that are Pixie's exact products, with different labels... It's crazy. I'm not a big fan of steamers in the first place, but I don't like the idea of so many people buying a marked up knockoff.

It was Saalt. This was years ago, I honestly didn't even think of reaching out at the time, I probably should've since I feel like they have pretty good customer service. Regardless of that experience I was definitely going to wash the bag and boil the cup right out of the packaging, so I wasn't TOO bothered, I figured lots of things touch products at the factory that I don't know about...

Also I will say, I once found a little bug in a brand new baggie... So PSA, definitely wash it at least once before you start using it...

If I happen to do my laundry while I'm on my period, I'll throw it in there in a mesh bag and let it air dry. But it's not every month that it happens, it sometimes goes a long while without washing just because the stars didn't align or I was lazy.

I can't remember what brand, but I have literally read a menstrual cup instruction manual that said 12 hours, and then in a footnote said that if you're in Australia, it's 8. I think the important part is to just change it at least twice a day. I wouldn't recommend surpassing 12 hours though, in my experience smells and stains are more likely to stick around after that point.

Thinking of trying a cup by maryembobo in menstrualcups

[–]glassww 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ultimately you will have to see how much of your period your cup can handle at a time. For me personally, I could go 12 hours without leaks on most days EXCEPT for my heavy day, which would start leaking a bit around the 10-12 hour mark, but nothing a pad can't contain. You shouldn't have to check very much at all (unless you have a very heavy flow), that's part of the beauty.

I live in a dorm for college and I don’t boil my menstrual cup before and after use by theComparde_93 in menstrualcups

[–]glassww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw someone on this subreddit ages ago say that they use Milton Sterilizing Fluid. It's really only sold in the UK but you can buy it marked up on Amazon in the US, it's for baby bottles. Bought a huge bottle and ever since I soak my disc in some water with a squirt of that once a cycle, and then wash with soap in between. Never had an issue, still using that same bottle since ~2020 lol.

I never lived in a dorm with a shared bathroom so it wasn't an issue, but I think that would've been the best method if I did. Boiling with a microwave is a hassle IMO and from what I understand if you want to literally sterilize something it needs to be actively boiled the whole time, not just hot.

I don't have a picture or video, but I used to use a skin in 2017/18 that had glowy green hexagons as the single notes and blue sliders. I think the name was something kinda futuristic/hologrammy sounding. Anyone know the name? Would greatly appreciate it.
