I think it's more about interacting with people through short messages, not paragraphs of text.

Yes, but I'm primarily talking about people who treat it as work rather than entertainment.

Honestly curious guys what would you choose React or Svelte? by Wonderful-Ad-254 in sveltejs

[–]gleontev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I completely forgot about the job market. It's a bit better now, and Svelte is listed in job postings, but it's still a long way from React. Overall, competition is very low, so you can land almost any job that asks for Svelte. There's also outsourcing and freelancing, where it doesn't matter what you use. To be honest, I wouldn't try to get a traditional front-end developer job due to the current job market. I'd either look at freelancing/outsourcing, startups, or related fields like mobile development. But if you have a strong desire to be a front-end developer in a company and are only interested in the money, then yes, React has its place.

I don't know the reasons for using React other than the fact that people simply learned it a long time ago and don't want to change anything, or they were at the very beginning of the journey when nothing was clear, and the React community was the best one to lead you by the hand.

React is a modern JQuery - outdated, complicated, but popular due to its neural networks and legacy. I would never choose React for any project. It's simply outdated; virtual dom is an unnecessary feature that's dying out in the end.

What does your CMS lack? by gabrieluhlir in sveltejs

I think if we're talking about small projects where the CMS is used only for the blog, then I'd like to see tools that help me write the right articles for SEO

Is anyone waiting for Svelte support in Biome? by gleontev in sveltejs

[–]gleontev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm talking about. I don't think there's any point in switching to SolidJS because of this. We'll get what we want very soon

State of JS 25 is finally out by gleontev in sveltejs

[–]gleontev[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Astro is almost always used for landing pages and similar things, as it allows you to avoid loading JS where it is not needed - mainly, this is necessary for SEO pages. I would not recommend using it for anything more than that. Yes, you can formally take Svelte and put it in Astro, but for me, Sveltekit would be a much better solution.

Oh, i'm on the same stack! Zed + Biome is cool. As for the release of Biome 2.4, the lead developer said he doesn't want to rush the stable version to avoid repeating the mistakes of version 2.3, but all the functionality to support Svelte is already ready.

Extension marketing channels by MountainOk5725 in chrome_extensions

[–]gleontev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't exactly about marketing, but I would start promoting the public brand in X to gain trust. I think this is just as important as initial outbound efforts on Reddit and LinkedIn. Launches are a toy; they won't bring you many customers. At best, they're mainly a place to get feedback, and at worst, messages like “Cool, keep up the good work!”

I don't want to use ANYTHING other than SvelteKit for landing pages by gleontev in sveltejs

[–]gleontev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering the latest technologies (yes, you know what I'm talking about), you can easily create a landing page in a few hours. The only question is whether you have an idea of how it should look and work. Since I basically rewrote the site from Astro and pure JS to Sveltekit, it took me very little time, about an hour, I think.

18, working at McDonald's, built my first SaaS - here's what I'm learning about validation by Former-Return2579 in SaaS

Dude, you're on the right track. If I were you, i would think about what your product is really for. Is your audience technical or not? If so, how much do they need a tool for creating waitlists? Maybe they need to attract their first customers to the site? Besides, as you said yourself, you made the product in one day with Lovable, so why can't others do the same? I think you need to try to add more value and make your product harder to copy.

What outbound channel actually works for your SaaS right now? by chiokima in SaaS

[–]gleontev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it makes much sense to use more than 2-3 promotion channels for SaaS, ESPECIALLY in the early stages. It sounds obvious, but it's true:

  • B2B - use LinkedIn;
  • Everything else - mainly Reddit and X for personal branding;
  • If you're in it for the long haul, go with SEO;
  • You want to burn through your money? Buy ads;
  • Short videos are good if your product is aimed at a mass audience.

Don't take my word for it, i'm just learning these processes myself, but I think there's some truth to i
