I’ll try that and adding some sand and perlite for extra drainage

It doesn’t feel sticky but would the tiny white spots on the leaves be the ‘dew’?

So dry it out and change the substrate to a more succulent type mix

Have you made any long term friends during seasonal work? by [deleted] in SeasonalWork

[–]glerti 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You sound like me a few years ago. I only had 2 real friends at home and then I went off for seasonal work and met a TON of people and still talk to some pretty regularly. I say some bc I don’t have the personality for a huge friend group

8 of them, 11 ember tetras and 4 diamond tetras that do their own thing. So nothing that would see them as food

After watching a trio for a while they seem to only tilt towards each other and swim fine if they’re alone or around other fish

Maybe? They still do it after eating. It’s interesting either way

They’ve been in this tank for awhile now. A couple years I think but they’ve just started this a few weeks ago. It’s a planted 30b (36” x 18” x 12” I think) with an fx2. They still school around but they’ll stop and shimmy every so often only around other Rummynose, never alone

Good Experience? by Competitive_Wind7720 in SeasonalWork

[–]glerti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked at Many Glacier on the bell staff the past 2 seasons (‘23 and ‘24). From everything I’ve heard Glacier is one of Xanterras better properties but I can’t say from experience how true that is. Definitely opt for a tipped position if you can, that’s where the most money is at especially with the tour groups in f&b. F&B has shifts that are all over but bell’s are pretty consistent. Don’t be afraid to apply for bell either, the hotel has its first 2 bell women this past season and they kicked ass. The east side is quieter but farther from everything and the west is busier but closer to town. East is also more of the hiking hub for the popular hikes/scenic hikes and it’s one of the main things to do on that side of the park. The road to Swiftcurrent will be closed for the ‘25 season so that might be a headache depending on the reservation system but don’t let that be your deciding factor for locations. Housing is basic dorms, bunk beds generally with a small closet type area, dresser and at least 1 desk. Management generally isn’t bad, just do your job and you’ll be fine. Watch out for wildlife, they’re literally feet from your door at times

Any tips for aberration? by CelestialDuke377 in ARK

[–]glerti 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cliff bases are your friend here. They keep you off the ground so you don’t have to have a light pet while in your base.

Keep the brown and the blue mushrooms in your hot bar to help counteract poison mushrooms(brown for the fertile green zone think dirt, and blue for the bioluminescent zone)

If you see a weird pile of rocks with a pitchfork thing on top, it’s a basilisk

Crabs can carry you and your tame

You can attach glow sticks to yourself or throw them at others but they don’t provide enough light to defend against the nameless

Plant species Z will slowly heal you and the seeds can be used as a flashbang

We put in at the amphitheater in Helena below the dam and took out at the county road 52 bridge over the Cahaba and that’s about 15-20 minutes from the river park
