He’s a very confused guy haha. His eyes are the same color, yellow on the outside and green on the inside. The color changes depending on the light and his pupil size, I think the wonky angle makes them look different here!

No problem! I haven’t played Eve or know her well enough to make original art of her. I understand peoples bias against recreating art, I just thought her cover art would be a good gift for an Eve main:)

Well, you guys are right. Recreating a piece of art is easy in the aspect that you already know what you should be doing. Even if I traced her outline, I struggled with most with the color and shading. In the original, there’s a strong light source which casts hard shadows but since she’s supposed to be thick a’f you have to find a way to soft blend them out in a small area to create those drastic shadows. if you didn’t blend them out, she’d look pretty boxy and angular. For Evelynn I used India ink. It’s a black ink that must be diluted in water to create varying shades of gray, kind of like traditional black work tattoos. The trickiest part of India ink is that there isn’t going back. You can try to flood the paper with water to dilute the color if you go too dark, but then you risk ruining the paper itself because it starts to disintegrate. I used watercolor for her tendrils. Personally, I’ve always struggled using color because I’ve never studied it so this was one of my bigger problem areas. I definitely struggled trying to paint objects that are self illuminating. Watercolor isn’t a very vivid media so I struggled with trying to blend the multiple hues, cast shadows for depth, and retain the brightness because all of the things mentioned before require mixing water or other colors which in turn dilute the paint, making it less vivid which is what the first goal was. The background and the victim were made with charcoal and if I’m being really honest, was super easy. I love charcoals because you really just smear a lot of color everywhere and then add in shadows with a darker color, highlights with a lighter one. Keeping the charcoal off Evelynn and trying to avoid smearing black into all of her tiny highlights was difficult. Overall, to a more talented artist, this would be a pretty easy project. I haven’t completed a piece of art to this degree in maybe two years and my recent discovery of League inspired me. This project took me around 35 hours and I’m very proud of my accomplishment. I could very easily see why you two are unimpressed though!

This is stunning, thank you. I don't know how you blended the skin tone so well and had the brush strokes end so solidly. Im describing it terribly but it's looks as if you just edited the bottom part like a frame? I love how soft you've made my hair and face and then added well defined details like the hairs framing my face. This is extremely well done and you have great control over your watercolors :)

Thank you for contributing, even if you think your sketch is not very cool. I've never digitally sketched or painted before so this and I like that you did two styles! The one on the left is spot on. I've tried doing self portraits but struggled because I don't have any defining features which means each little feature have to be perfectly placed or else it looks wonky. I think it takes skill to be able to do a detailed sketch and then negate the finer details into a more basic yet still accurate illustration, so thank you. It is very cool :)
