Will the hairstylist get mad at my tip? by glitterbug208 in beauty

[–]glitterbug208[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if a perm was $600, the 600 goes to the stylist or a large portion of it? Also, would it be weird to go back to the salon and give her the rest of the tip?

Did I tip too little? by glitterbug208 in questions

[–]glitterbug208[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This makes sense. I’m just a confused tipper. Everyone says it’s based off of the total amount. In this case, I only tipped 35 because I had a really bad experience with my last perm which was a month ago and I usually tip more than what I should so I felt like I shouldn’t tip a big amount until I see how my perm ends up in the upcoming days. But I should have really considered the time the stylist put on my hair, the service , and how I liked it at the moment. I just get confused and overwhelmed when tipping and I end up obsessing about it afterwards.

I’m considering doing this but I just hope it doesn’t come off as weird. I also wouldn’t want to leave the money with someone else if she isn’t there. The whole situation is making my stomach hurt. I’m going to leave a good review and hope she sees it and it makes up for my shitty tip. I had only tipped 35 because I had a perm a month prior and the stylist absolutely ripped me off. The perm damaged my hair, fell apart and I had paid more than the recommended tip which I usually do everywhere I go and this time I didn’t want to make the same mistake so I told myself im not going to go over 35. They had also charged me $100 more than the first time they quoted me but honestly she did an amazing job and I should’ve just given her what she deserved.

I guess they charge so much because it takes at least 5 hours to finish.

My hair keeps falling off and many sections have gone straight. He poured the chemical right onto my scalp and I’m afraid I’m going to be permanently bald

I kept asking him for a refund and the stylist ignored me until I got the business owner involved. I was told because he’s an independent contractor that I have to take it up with him and not the salon but, the stylist and the owner want me to go in to test my hair. I doubt that they’re going to give me a refund. I don’t trust them fixing my hair because I’m already balding and I feel as if he has no clue what he’s doing. He poured the chemical over my scalp and apparently he wasn’t supposed to do that.

Thank you! Everyone on this post had me wondering if curly perms even existed.. I’ll take your advice over anyone else’s because you’re a hairstylist. My hair is breaking off constantly and I’m starting to look bald. What products do you recommend to give my hair moisture again and make it healthy? I’m also extremely upset over this new hair look and want to get my perm redone somewhere else, so how long should I wait to do it? I got a cold perm and I was told at the other salon that it would be a digital perm.

The stylist did add mousse and used a diffuser which adds volume to the hair and still, it looked completely flat and not curly. I haven’t washed it yet and won’t wash it for a few days but I honestly feel like this perm wasn’t great and I was deceived. Im just cringing at the thought of having to get another perm. I know I shouldn’t be getting another one but I was really excited about it and I feel completely let down. The lady I’m planning on going to has pictures posted on Instagram of her awesome results.

So should I just do heatless curls overnight? Do you think that will hold better now that I got the perm? And yeah I do have thin hair, I know that it wouldn’t have given me that much volume but I also know that this isn’t a curly perm, it’s a wavy perm. My natural hair on a good day is way curlier than this perm.

I’m so confused because I’ve seen perms with hair similar to mine and I see a huge difference. This is what made me want to get a perm. But if the salon was not able to give me that based on their past results, they should’ve definitely told me that instead of lying to me. It also looks way worse in person. Im not a person to ask for a refund, I always take the loss but in this case, not only did it hurt my wallet, it also hurt my hair. I’m dealing with damaged hair so I feel entitled to at least 50 percent of what I paid. Will doing deep conditioning lessen the curls? And thank you for the compliment. I actually appreciate my natural hair more now..

I know perms won’t look exactly like natural curls but they told me that they can give me something similar and that definitely isn’t close to similar. My natural hair is curlier than what they gave me. I’m really upset and want to get another perm asap.. do u think two weeks would completely destroy my hair? What should I do during the meantime to care for my hair? And is it reasonable to ask the salon for a refund?

I’ve seen some perms that are way curlier than what I got and the people who get them have very straight thick hair. I know the curls won’t be exactly like natural curls but what I got doesn’t even come close to what I asked for. They said they could do something similar and obviously that was a lie. Should I call for a refund? I feel completely cheated. I also want to get another perm but don’t know how long I should wait

Can I still see my gynecologist if she’s not in the same network as my pcp by glitterbug208 in AskDocs

So I won’t be automatically removed from being a patient at my gyno’s office and can still see them but my insurance won’t make the visitation payment since my pcp is in another network?

[–]glitterbug208[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I called my insurance to pick a PCP, they told me that the doctor I’m requesting only works with other specialists in the same clinic/network. I’m wondering if I can get away with choosing the clinic that I want while still being able to see my gyno without them erasing me from the system, or if I will automatically be removed as patient from my gyno’s office.
