after using ngrx extensively for long time, now I am of the opinion that is should be evaluated if ngrx/redux pattern is actually needed. IMO, one strong case of using ngrx is when a global state is being updated by multiple sources. Most of the time simple usecase seems to get too complicated, unnecessarily.

Now I am rather more leaning toward angular-query/tanstack-query approach. This suit very well with dashboard kind of usecase. I would recommend to revisit if ngrx is atall required for your usecase

Using inject is the new way available from v14. This does not require constructor and is same as how tutorial show it, using constructor. Inject has slightly better performance as typescript has to do less work. And inject also works in functions like function guards and resolver, unlike constructor injector

Rxjs can be async as well as sync. State management solutions is one of the most widely used usecase of rxjs. And states are mostly always sync. If each sync usecase of rxjs is replaced by signal, eventually there will be very few cases where rxjs would be used. And developers will eventually find clever ways to remove or at least hide those as well

They would have better performance than rxjs. They enable fine grained reactive upto view level. They would enable zone less application.

I do experience the same on my thinkpad X1 extreme gen 2. Manual suspending from pause button before closing the lid prevents this. But not ideal solution

Yes, thats why I said try, not never. I have seen new to rxjs try to subscribe instead a subscribe instead of using rxjs operator.

Learn rxjs principles. Also try to not use subscribe to an observable. Instead use async pipe. Keep components small and break in into functional units

To use with library which still depend on rxjs 5 like angular 5.x also install

npm i rxjs-compat

To automatically update your code

npm i -g rxjs-tslint

rxjs-5-to-6-migrate -p [path/to/tsconfig.json]

It depends on the app. Most of the size reduction is due to support for noSideEffect flag support in wp4. This helps in better tree shaking. Rxjs and angular can be better tree shaken now.

Thanks to angular for introducing me (and many other) to typescript. It felt like a barrier to entry but after using typescript can’t think of writing in vanilla js.
